Howdy,
You dusted yourselves off and Boamund led you deeper into the ruined area, following tracks made by the mecha-ghoul, which helped navigate the precarious and confusing debris. You found a pit where it seems to have rested, and within spotted a bronze wand that Boamund soon handed over to Bog, who hated its obvious Godlearner affiliation. Amidst arguments over its fate, Bog was stomping on it when it finally exploded after sparking; injuring him but sealing its fate. You shrugged and explored onward. Past the “grave”, there was a small opening into a much larger chamber where the ceiling had entirely caved in and there were many, larger debris piles and smashed machines. Bog delighted in adding to the destruction, swinging his mace around, while Boamund led more exploration.
Boamund noticed that the right wall by the entryway was delicate and sagging, probably thin. Miguel inspected it and confirmed, figuring that a well-placed thrown rock might topple it. Bog had just smashed another device that you found; a mechanical clockwork thing; and that unleashed dancing magical energies that refueled your mana. So he was happy to throw a rock and the wall did come crashing down, unleashing choking dust clouds. Behind the dust, three fiery humanoid figures sent blasts of fire at Miguel and emerged to engage you with fiery spectral daggers- they were wraiths of Zistorites screaming hatred for the living, tortured by the agony of burning to death in the chamber that lay past the collapsed wall. You suffered some wounds at their hands but soon sent them to rest with your magical weapons. You'd found a pale, fist-sized crystal in the ruins and Bog tried smashing it but it just flew unharmed into the dust somewhere; Miguel sought it but was scolded to leave it be.
The moderate-sized chamber was choked with charred bones amidst rubble and crushed machines. Dozens of skeletons lay twisted amidst the rubble and caked with dust, ash and grime. There was another, even flimsier wall on the far (right) side and Bog opened a large hole in it, through which three mechamagical Zistorite zombies soon emerged, swinging metal fists and biting with mana-draining bronze jaws. They were quicker and more cunning than expected for rotting undead but Boamund's ice-sword, in particular, made short work of them. However, in the chamber beyond there was a spirit lurking, which was throwing powerful sorcery spells at Miguel, trying to compel him to do something. You rushed it to meet a wailing woman in charred robes, wreathed in purple flames. But the room was heavily choked with debris that made it hard to get around it, and Bog and Fraud stumbled around before they could enter; nonetheless Boamund showed that weapons (and then some spells) seemed to do nothing-it was truly a spirit and not engaging you in spectral combat. It then threw a massive spell that hit all of you (BTW party luck pts = 0); Bog chuckled because it was compelling hoomanz to do something but he was not that! However, its words in Old Seshnegi, moaning about burial or something, got you thinking you should try another tack.
The room was burnt and partially destroyed. Sagging and collapsed as it is, the stone and mortar ceiling still appeared to be sound. The centre of the room, amidst the debris, preserved three corroded bronze tables, each of which bore a humanoid skeleton with body parts replaced by bronze. Might these be the bones of the ghost?
