Session 182: 27 March 24, day 113

we notice that, at some point in the transition from the upper level to here all the medallions that allowed access have disappeared.

We examine the god head room, we close the 'iris' and enter the god chamber, there is a distant rumbling from below. Vulf goes in and experiences an overwhelming despair. Bjarni too but he forces himself on. Eventually the despair is too much and he backs out. Fria checks the place visually and then follows: the partyy move on to the next chamber which was once a shrine with a broken alter and amon written on the wall. There is a black stone arch topped with an image of an medusa. one of the medusa pathways we think so Fria casts a telepathic bond and Vulf goes through. Fria searches and finds a hidden passage behind the solid obsidian portal. She searches on and vulf comes back , and has a look behind the door. Beyond is a rich dusky chamber, quite comfy with desk/chairs/bookshelves etc.

Vulf thinks there is a wending ways portal in the room: he and Jestix use the carpet to go to the mages 4 level. They succeed !

They return and Jestix invites everyone else to join : we do and he 'jumps' through a nearby portal he wanted to investigate we arrive near his target in a 30×30 chamber where we are 'ethereally there' there are bronze doors with plaques above them, above north door it honors ~Nibul~ of the 7 arches. there are chalk marks and scratched around the room. Here light ~Nibul~ .. and a long epitaph

'Here Lies Nibul,
also titled Of The Seven Arches
Lord of the Wend
and Keeper of the Twelve Sigils
Faithful Companion to Lord Saral
And Honored Foe of the Dragon Prince
May His Rest Never Be Disturbed
Nor His Memory Ever Inspire
Other Fools to Follow His Path
Know That While You Look Upon His Tomb,
You May Never Enter It'.

Jestix moves us back, We explore on and find a checkered floor crossroads (not a literal crossroads) ..Bjarni enters and crosses into a huge room with a stupendous feast. Bjarni notes one table is a much less fancy / suitable for more meagre tastes: he is momentarily tempted but Jestix (mentally) reminds him not to eat. He resists temptation and crosses the room to open the doors beyond, as he opens them the doors in close, and Vulf, Jestix etc try to stop their door closing: after a short tug of war they decide to agree to let them close so Bjarni and Fria can continue.. the doors open into another cross hatched junction room.. on the second try the doors beyond, as each door opens the ones behind close.

Fria and Bjarni walk through the door/portal and return to the dragon & beholder layer. Home of Bargalast.. etc massive lock w gold chains etc. The beholder explains a welcome and that we're not the first people transported here:

Dragon rune(5th) : +10 speed for one hour, can be etched on armour / clothes.

Fria transports her and Bjarni back to the party and after some discussion we try again, going into the juntion room and open the door.

Vulf & jestix try and they arrive on level 5 at the shrine to metterak, where we picked up the dragon rune (3rd - w scroll)! it appears to be random door, but we suspect it is not. We work out that the portal transports you to a location where there is a dragon-rune that you do not have etched! It's a gotta-collect-em-all challenge.

this is dave's mistake, doesn't happen yet' We enter the final chamber and see a huge red-dragon at the far end of a long dimly-let chamber, with a greyish glow from the ceiling.e is a statue of a reptilian humanoid with a mournful countenanxce: his head raises as we pass. There is a red scorch mark on the floor. The dragon is on a raised area acecssed by steps. There is a ledge on one side 20' up. Some figures appear and say greetings to the hall of metterak blah blah, and that the people came through looked and found something here. Bjarni opens the door and under it is a dragon-rune ! a new one .
