Bjarni examines the ring of jammison: noting cannot be taken off except to activate it (1/week). Deciding the gel corridor is a diversion/trap move on. Vulfette heads for the two doors on the other side of the room: a 10' corridor extends 60' to the north before turning west.. as Sulf passes half way point a demon walks round the corner and says prepare to die. it is a massive humanoid toad. Sulf and Miss BJ form up to battle it while Fria blows a raspberry at it with her exceptionally long toad-like tongue. Vulf strikes up a song. It unleashes chaotic power as a multi-coloured explosion (chaos hammer, will-partial 5d8) fria fails her s/t but it doesn't affect her.
(Vulfs song =+2d10 +con hp for duration, and +2 attack, +1 fort s/th) About this time a wall of whirling blades appears (blade barrier). Miss BJ steps up and twonks it as a 6 armed female appears ( a Marlith). Fria feebleminds the demon. Bjarni smites his and the demon collapses to the floor and another Marlith appears behind Fria and Vulf just by the blade-wall. Fria's blindness ray seems not to affect the new Marlith, and somehow the spell is reflected but Fria dodges/ is not affected. Vulf hits it, assessing if it is an illusion/projected-image: it is and she calls it.. The image and real Marlith attack Bj and luckily she can ignore 7 of the 24 attacks! It's Bear-girls' turn to attack: she speeds up and goes for it: 240hp damage later the Merlith is looking very very sorry for herself and dissapears, quickly followed by her image. Round the corner at the end of the corridor is a lever. There is treasure on the demons Vulf pulls the lever and we push the demon through the blade barrier to speed up the spell's end, and we leave the trap corridor : it seems 3 of the 4 doors are death traps. The final corridor seems empty and there is a level at the end, fria notices runes along between floor and wall: jestix and fria spider climb to a nearby wall, Sulf reads the rune and then tries to erase one. He frees up a foot or two are removed and he stands by them as he pulls the lever, and the corridor fills with green ominous gas pretty much instantly. Fris DD's out, Bear-gerls and Sulf grab a lung full of fresh air, jestix is immune to poison and ignores it. as well as poison it is also acidic (12pts). Fria DD's out everyone else runs, and the gas spills into the main room. Fria blows the gas back in with a fan of wind. We explore further up and the doors to small rooms and as expected there are 4 keyholes that appear (Lifts/teleport rooms) we need more of the keys.
The party decide to find the bits of tral-ferar's carpet: having been told the bits are in the demon and island levels. Shaow walking to the temple at bridenforth shallix's temple we unload some treasure and dd to the temple on 7th/ demon level. As we enter Glarius' temple there is a huge bat winged humanoid demon in the chamber: a Balor, with a great sword and flaming whip: it is accompanied by some smaller minon demons: the minons rush and casts a cause fear, which we ignore. The balor casts blaspheme! we are weakened (2pts str) and dazed (defend for 1 rnd), Isondel is paralysed for 10 mins, LEONORA IS KILLED instantly, Henry is paralysed, Hunter is dispelled, Fabian is dispelled. The gerlz attack, and Fria lets rip an angry fireball that kills the dretch but singes Bear-gerls, Sulf casts irresistable dance upon the Balor. Ahmumstut heals Bjarni : as the demon dances we get attacks of opportunity, Vulf hits, Bjarni twonks it. Then Bear-gerls attacks in full with speed (1 crit+3 hits). It is killed and explodes for 100pts of damage to everyone. Leaving a crater in the floor.
there is treasure cooling down in the crater.. but his weapons go with him
