Transcript

Fria - HT : 0:00 - 0:05

Do I have to open my notes? Yeah, surely I'm redundant. Stop recording, you should.

Wulf - PB : 0:09 - 0:12

Session concluded with a group poised to explore deeper into the…

GM - DF : 0:12 - 0:31

I couldn't be bothered earlier to actually do your experience points, but my estimate while we've been chatting is Yoni's got about 3,800, which is probably enough to push him over, and everybody else has got 2,700.

Bjarni - PN : 0:31 - 0:32

Ooh, wow.

Jestix - TE : 0:33 - 0:36

Which is nearly enough to push us over.

GM - DF : 0:36 - 0:39

The Tower Golem was actually…

Fria - HT : 0:39 - 0:39

Massive.

GM - DF : 0:39 - 0:41

What gave you the last amount of that?

Wulf - PB : 0:44 - 0:46

Well, CR, what rating is that then?

GM - DF : 0:47 - 0:47

22.

Wulf - PB : 0:48 - 0:49

22?

Fria - HT : 0:49 - 0:51

It was pretty nasty.

GM - DF : 0:52 - 0:53

Everything else hasn't been actually that high.

Fria - HT : 1:01 - 1:04

Okay. Just opening up the…

GM - DF : 1:06 - 1:11

It probably is that when there's a moment's rest, Yoni, that you probably have crossed.

Bjarni - PN : 1:14 - 1:14

Okay.

Fria - HT : 1:15 - 1:15

Yeah.

Bjarni - PN : 1:15 - 1:16

No rush.

Fria - HT : 1:20 - 1:29

Yoni, yeah, you only needed 4,000. You needed 3,300 to go up to 20th. So roughly how much?

GM - DF : 1:30 - 1:31

3,800.

Fria - HT : 1:31 - 1:38

The rest of us, I think Jestix was… The wolf was closest and he needed 7,000.

Wulf - PB : 1:39 - 1:40

I wouldn't… Jestix would have been closest.

Fria - HT : 1:40 - 2:03

So we're all getting closer, but we're not there yet. So it sounds like our extra special bear is going to be even more special. Okay.

Let's turn back on…

Wulf - PB : 2:03 - 2:05

You mean now it's going to be high enough level to be vaguely competent?

Fria - HT : 2:07 - 2:33

Yes.

There was the fish. The fish… Bear.

Bear shark things. I was searching down the hole in the floor near where the elemental was. There's a hole in the ground.

A cave system leading off towards Bridenforth.

Jestix - TE : 2:33 - 2:33

Yeah.

Fria - HT : 2:33 - 2:35

If you think it connects up with the catacombs.

Wulf - PB : 2:37 - 2:37

We've seen that.

Fria - HT : 2:38 - 2:40

There was a great big hole by the elemental.

Jestix - TE : 2:40 - 2:45

But that potentially gives us a way out if we don't find the stone.

Fria - HT : 2:45 - 2:46

Sorry, you broke up there.

Jestix - TE : 2:47 - 2:52

That potentially gives us a way out if we don't find the stone.

Fria - HT : 2:53 - 2:53

Yes.

Jestix - TE : 2:54 - 2:56

Because it potentially goes under the shield.

Wulf - PB : 2:57 - 3:01

Well, unless there's a shield that extends down.

Fria - HT : 3:01 - 3:15

Yes, it could be interesting if the shield goes under the ground and there's a sphere.

But still, it could be interesting. Roughly which direction do we think it's going to extend to? We should be able to make it spin around.

Wulf - PB : 3:17 - 3:21

If you run really fast around the outside of it, it'll start to rotate.

Jestix - TE : 3:22 - 3:30

Yes. Spoil the view, make it point somewhere else.

Fria - HT : 3:37 - 3:39

Are we still day 118 continued?

GM - DF : 3:41 - 3:44

Yeah, it's probably now ten o'clock.

Fria - HT : 3:44 - 3:57

It's getting later by the minute. So there's a great big hole which needs exploring. But which way is the big gem?

Wulf - PB : 3:58 - 4:00

I think it's through this doorway.

Fria - HT : 4:01 - 4:26

So that could be where the boss level is. Or it's certainly where…

It's unlikely to be unprotected, isn't it? Seeing as I was actually going to just dimension door straight to there. What could possibly go wrong?

Let's open the door and find out. Do you want me to check for traps? There haven't been many in here, so…

Wulf - PB : 4:26 - 4:27

Nah.

Fria - HT : 4:27 - 4:29

If you just want to give it a kicking…

Wulf - PB : 4:29 - 4:32

I'll just break the door open and survey the scene beyond.

GM - DF : 4:35 - 5:02

Okay.

Large room, which was the main hall of the Caudal Castle. There's a large-ish table in the middle, with a gemstone hovering above it. But on the floor are a whole host of creatures, which I'll come to in a second.

Jestix - TE : 5:05 - 5:09

The second level of things she's brought back from the dead to defeat us.

Fria - HT : 5:24 - 5:41

Lovely. Let's find out if we actually care about any of the creatures, and what sort of level of challenge it's going to be.

Jestix - TE : 5:43 - 6:05

Well, given there have probably been things we've already killed before, and the only thing we can… I was going to say we certainly can't be, is that it's not the vampire fishy people.

Wulf - PB : 6:08 - 6:09

Probably not them.

Fria - HT : 6:12 - 6:36

We did kind of destroy them really rather well. Is there any bodies we've left? Dave's been collecting them.

My fingers await. What's the list? What do we see?

GM - DF : 6:37 - 6:38

Okay.

Fria - HT : 6:41 - 6:52

It's all our friends from Brittenforth there going, Surprise!

Wulf - PB : 6:56 - 6:59

It's a double surprise party.

Fria - HT : 7:00 - 7:05

Yeah, it's Bjarne's 20th level surprise party.

Jestix - TE : 7:07 - 7:10

The room's full of demons!

Wulf - PB : 7:16 - 7:17

Oh no.

Fria - HT : 7:23 - 7:33

Turkey afters! Lots and lots of demon turkeys! Dave, you spoil us with these little turkey balls!

Jestix - TE : 7:40 - 7:41

Harpies?

GM - DF : 7:43 - 8:26

Yeah. Gobble, gobble, gobble. So, there are three disgustingly warped-looking harpies, and a whole host of almost human-sized turkeys that look like they've got hustles on their skin, and, you know, hardened skin, and… Well, it doesn't file.

Jestix - TE : 8:26 - 8:28

Well, we need the harpies for war.

GM - DF : 8:29 - 8:34

Yeah. So, turkeys look horrible to start with, and these look…

Jestix - TE : 8:34 - 8:34

Worse.

Fria - HT : 8:36 - 8:37

Yeah, they were were-turkeys, weren't they?

GM - DF : 8:41 - 8:45

They really were turkeys.

Fria - HT : 8:48 - 9:06

Frying tonight! Shall we just blast the fuckers, or do you want to get in there and…? There seems to be one over here, Dave, which is kind of above some stairs or a trapdoor?

GM - DF : 9:06 - 9:09

Yeah, there's stairs going up to a raised platform.

Fria - HT : 9:09 - 9:10

Ah, cool.

GM - DF : 9:11 - 9:16

This is perched on, you know, where you might see a gargoyle, these two.

Fria - HT : 9:16 - 9:17

Yeah, understood.

GM - DF : 9:18 - 9:24

But this one's actually standing on this raised… There's stairs leading up to a raised area.

Wulf - PB : 9:27 - 9:27

How?

GM - DF : 9:27 - 9:31

You vaguely might remember that from the last one that wasn't raised there.

Fria - HT : 9:31 - 9:36

Yes, I vaguely do. Inches, five feet, isn't it?

Wulf - PB : 9:40 - 9:53

So, where does this raised area go to, Dave? Does it go along here?

GM - DF : 9:56 - 9:59

Yes, it does, and also along here.

Fria - HT : 9:59 - 10:02

There's a minstrel's gallery type place somewhere.

Wulf - PB : 10:02 - 10:03

Okay.

Jestix - TE : 10:03 - 10:08

So, there might be things above us we can't see.

Fria - HT : 10:09 - 11:18

There might be. Look! Bad things, says Wolf.

Prepare to fight! Initiative? The turkeys have some sort of castle.

Have some sort of… I'm just thinking of what they were. There's the stairs up, yeah?

Yeah. And it's on there, and there's a gallery here. You become cursed…

There were turkeys. You become cursed to become a turkey if they hurt you, I think. And once defeated, they turn into Christmas crackers.

Fantastic stuff. Okay. Sorry.

The moment I remembered it was Thanksgiving. The turkeys had to be returning. LAUGHTER They were originally turkeys, but the moment I remembered…

Oh, Thanksgiving! Didn't we have turkeys once? Are we rolling initiative or continuing on previously?

Oh, yeah, it's initiative time. 20…

GM - DF : 11:20 - 11:22

11…

Fria - HT : 11:24 - 11:32

6… Oh, dear. 20…

6…

GM - DF : 11:33 - 11:34

11… 11.

Fria - HT : 11:34 - 11:48

In between those two. Um… Aaron goes on 13.

Vulf goes on 16. Isndael goes on 22.

GM - DF : 11:50 - 11:51

What was Fred?

Fria - HT : 11:52 - 11:52

20.

Jestix - TE : 11:53 - 11:54

Isndael's first.

Fria - HT : 12:03 - 15:37

Some of the foundry stuff on Monday is really quite useful for that, where you all roll and it just sorts that out for you. That's slower than me. Actually, the tool here, down here, actually does that.

Which tool? The mini-injector thingy at the bottom. Oh.

I like your tokens in order. That's a lovely little way. I looked at it and I thought about it.

You basically allocate one of your D20s to be the initiative D20. You roll it and it comes up. In a similar sort of way to the foundry.

You can also add in the turn system on tabletops. It's all built in. I just choose.

I choose that I just don't like it. I played with it for a while and thought I didn't like it. Going on that subject, you can change your key mapping if you want to use a SDW to scroll the map, go and change the key mapping.

Because it applies to you. It's not global. That's how I've got mine going at the moment.

No, but this foundry's always done that, but Dave was moaning about the fact the foundry doesn't do it. But he can go into foundry and change his key mapping. I think he was just moaning to wind you up.

He'll find something else now you've fixed that. He has to fix it himself, that's the point. Ah, but you have taught a man how to fish.

Did you spot that I've changed my dice to be absolutely revoltingly hard to read? Yes. He's done them all.

I think it's annoying that it actually tells you that I can't cheat. Or Holland will hate it. Of course he doesn't cheat.

He's just lucky. You'll know. Right.

Isn't Dell? It seems that Volf is allowing Dell on the job. As usual.

He's seen a heart piece and he's fallen over already. He wants one. All of them.

He's preparing himself. So Freya, by the look of it, is actually hiding around the side. I was literally there.

While he kicked the door, I was in cover. I was just going to pop round and see what happened as the door was kicked. So, yes, peeking round the edge of the door.

You're in a different room. You know that. Oh, hang on.

You're not actually in this room. Hang on. That's Volf, isn't it?

And that's the door you've just kicked? Yes, but it's difficult to see. There's actually a wall here.

Oh, sorry. Then I was trying to kind of peek round the corner of the door as he kicked it open. I'll allow that.

Doors aren't really that. I couldn't see the wall from my Zoom. My one wibble with the Dungeon Alchemist, which actually you can export the maps, please, it's like boundary by the way, is at the moment they don't seem to have doors which you can centre, like there.

Five-foot doors that are centred along. You have to have it on the left or the right-hand side or a double door. Yeah?

Okay. Stupid. You can't put it in the middle.

GM - DF : 15:38 - 15:42

Yeah. So, actually, it isn't quite as big as the door looks there.

Fria - HT : 15:43 - 15:45

That's just… All right.

Wulf - PB : 15:45 - 15:47

Okay, Volf goes, buffings!

Fria - HT : 15:49 - 16:47

And then he waits. I thought it was Isindel first.

So, Volf did the initial action and then… Is Indel sensing that something explosive may happen in the near future, goes on hold. I believe the near future is now me.

So, he's just delaying, yeah? Yep. Yep.

I target this one with a chain lightning. And it can then hop from there to 13 other locations. So, I think number one is the one you actually aim at.

That's always nice to know. It has a… Explosiveness?

No. Immunity to lightning? Immunity to butter?

Jestix - TE : 16:48 - 16:49

No.

Fria - HT : 16:51 - 19:44

Doesn't also have very good reflexes. Reflexes? Yep.

It's a reflexes… DC 29 to half the damage. I'm afraid it's…

Right. It bounced. No.

He explained that it's safe. Okay. So, all the others within 30 feet.

So, up to 13 others, including the Harpy if possible, within 13 feet, also have to make it all get half… They get half damage. So, he gets 16 D6 and the rest do hell.

I'll start on the Die Rolling. That's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. So, this is the first 10.

The first 10 is really crap and adds up to 26. The next 6 add up to 26 as well. So, that's 52.

The 2 volts if you change 4? I'm just doing the D10 now. Right.

So, that is actually all of them. No, it didn't. Yep.

Good. It doesn't get the Harpies because actually the Harpies are above. 30 feet above?

Is it 30 feet high? 30 foot radius. Or it's 30 foot from that creature.

It can get in any direction. I'm going to say the 2 Harpies are nutty. Okay.

It's understandable though. Cool. So, all of them will take 52 or 26.

The first one takes 52 because he didn't pass. And the others take 26 or 13 according to their DC 29. 52.

That's such a lovely number when it comes to division, isn't it? It goes down to a 13 at one point. And I…

29. 26. There's a 29 DC, 26 damage.

Okay. So, of the first 10, only one makes it. So, he gets 13.

So, two actually make it. So, I'm going to say the two furthest away, they get how much? 13.

One three. Everyone else gets 26. And turkey number one gets 52.

Wulf - PB : 19:57 - 19:58

56.

Fria - HT : 20:02 - 20:38

Okay. So… I'll back you to cover if I can.

All the light… So, all those get electric shocked. They're not happy about that.

But there's not much they can do about it yet. So, Freya's gone. Wolf sees the Harpies and goes…

They do weird sonic stuff. So, he's going to go… Counter song!

So, don't listen to the Harpies. Just listen to me. Listen to me.

Don't listen to the Harpies. Can you apply that to yourself, please?

Bjarni - PN : 20:40 - 20:42

I'm ignoring you. I'm ignoring you.

Fria - HT : 20:50 - 21:16

I don't know. It doesn't say what… You know, if it takes up an action or…

Or transformation. He gets out a big axe.

GM - DF : 21:26 - 21:27

I thought you'd gone for the basting knife.

Fria - HT : 21:32 - 22:41

One of my better batting averages. That was over 300 points. Yeah.

300 points of damage. Yeah. Not dodgy, are we?

Not as much as Bjarne in a full… You know, I'm beating the crap out of something that can't dodge. But it's still fairly good.

It's an SU. That's supernatural. I'm assuming it takes an action to start it.

Full foil stepping. Once per day a bard can use a song, a boat, or use effects. One is to be spawned and the other to be abandoned.

Starting bardic music is a standard for action. Some bardic music requires concentration, in which the bard must take a standard action each round to obtain it.

Wulf - PB : 22:43 - 22:51

Bardic music doesn't require concentration. Even while using bardic music, it doesn't require concentration. A bard cannot cast spells or activate spell items.

Fria - HT : 22:53 - 22:54

No, I can hit things, though.

Wulf - PB : 22:55 - 23:02

Yeah. So… Does it require concentration?

Fria - HT : 23:48 - 23:51

Song of Freedom requires one minute of uninterrupted concentration.

Bjarni - PN : 23:53 - 23:55

Yeah, that's different.

Fria - HT : 24:02 - 25:24

I'm talking about countersong here, not song. Yeah, I know. I'm just…

I thought, well, let's just see if there's a word concentration. It's quite vague in terms of actual mechanics, isn't it, countersong? It doesn't seem to apply how long it lasts for.

I can do it up to ten rounds, countersong. That's the last thing it says. The bards may keep up the countersong for ten rounds.

It doesn't say it uses up my bardic music. It's just ten rounds. Well, let's assume that you don't need to concentrate on it.

Would you use up at least your free action? At least, yes. Last time we met the Harpies, one of them was a spell user and hit us with a lightning bolt.

Thankfully, isn't that countered? Yep. Just so we know.

Okay, so, Vulf has started doing music to stop the Harpies doing their thing. And Vulf's got his gauntlet of rusting from them. They may have another gauntlet of rusting.

Wulf - PB : 25:27 - 25:29

I haven't stood. Okay.

Bjarni - PN : 25:31 - 25:38

This looks like a good opportunity. Let me just check up on a spell.

Wulf - PB : 25:53 - 25:54

I have spell resistance.

Fria - HT : 26:23 - 26:29

I might just grab myself a warm cup of tea, because it's freezing in here. Back in a moment.

Jestix - TE : 26:31 - 26:31

Okay.

Fria - HT : 26:37 - 26:52

Ahem. It's just by the entranceway, but I can't put him down very well. Okay.

He does a cone-shaped attack, often called chryspatic spray, on the turkeys.

Bjarni - PN : 26:54 - 26:57

How big is his cone? 60 feet.

Fria - HT : 27:08 - 27:49

So I reckon that should get the turkeys. I don't have a 60-foot one, but I do have a 30-foot one. A 30-foot one gets all the turkeys.

If there's anything hiding farther back in the room, beyond in trees and things, they're going to get hit as well. Well, that was more than 30 feet, because each of these spares is 5 feet. 60 feet is that high.

So that cone looks like about 60 feet.

Wulf - PB : 27:50 - 27:52

Yeah, I think it is. I think it's just mismarked.

Fria - HT : 27:53 - 28:38

Where did he go? I don't know. He deleted it, I would guess.

Clicking repeatedly on it to try and pick it up seems to make it go away. Well, we got all we needed from it. So, anyway, he does that.

And… The spell causes seven shimmering intertwined multicoloured beams of light to spray from his hand. Do they have 8 hit dice or less?

If they do, then they're blinded for some 2d4 rounds.

Bjarni - PN : 28:39 - 28:40

They have more than 8 hit dice.

Fria - HT : 28:41 - 29:00

Every creature in the area is randomly struck by one or more beams which have additional effects. So, turkey number 1, please. Let's do them in groups of 4.

So, we'll do this group of 4 first.

Bjarni - PN : 29:09 - 29:10

How are you going to do the…

Fria - HT : 29:10 - 29:11

So, roll d8.

Bjarni - PN : 29:12 - 29:14

The meter there? Yep.

Fria - HT : 29:21 - 30:19

8. Oh, lucky you. You get to roll twice.

Oh, and you get hit by 2 beams. Yep. Oh, you need to roll the dice again.

Yep. 7 and a 7. Okay.

They both need to make will saves. Two lots of will saves. 18…

26. And the DC is… 24.

So, yep. If you got 24 or more, then you're fine. If you got less than that, then you're not fine.

First one of the two fails. Yep. Okay, you got 20 on the first one.

Okay, so in that case, he disappears off to another plane.

Jestix - TE : 30:23 - 30:24

What?

Fria - HT : 30:26 - 30:43

He's missing somewhere. Sent to another plane. By hit by a violet ray.

Okay, next turkey. 6. So, save.

DC 24.

Wulf - PB : 30:47 - 30:48

Which… Which one?

Bjarni - PN : 30:49 - 30:51

Will save. No.

Fria - HT : 30:53 - 32:20

Fail. That would guess. 15, sorry.

Okay, so he's gone insane. That's got the insanity spell. Sure that's going to make an awful lot of difference.

It does, because it means they act randomly. Yeah. It's like the confusion spell, but it's permanent.

Not sure that's going to make an awful lot of difference. Next turkey. 5.

5. So, fortitude save this time. DC 24.

30. 30? He's alright.

He turned a bit grey briefly, but he fought it off. So, 8 for the other turkey. So, that's a 5 and an 8.

Does it keep going? No. Reroll 8.

5 and a 6. 5 and a 6. Okay, so one fortitude and one will save.

The fortitude is a natural 1, and the will is a fail, I guess. Okay. He goes insane, but he also gets turned to stone.

So, 5. 5 the second save. So, we'll do this group now.

Jestix - TE : 32:21 - 32:21

Alright.

Fria - HT : 32:24 - 33:33

Another 8. So, that's a 3 and a 2. Lucky you're not rolling damage.

Okay, so you need two reflexes now. Reflex number one is… 26.

Reflex number two… 12. Okay.

He made the first one and failed the second one. I don't know which is which. So, he made the three, but failed the two.

Yeah. Okay, so in that case you take… 40 points of electricity damage and 40 points of acid damage.

What nerf did you cast? Prismatic Ray. A whole lot of turkeys.

He's lighting you up like Christmas. Yeah, one's just barely got sent to another plane, and one got turned to stone. One's gone nuts.

One's been fried and burnt.

Bjarni - PN : 33:39 - 33:44

Turkey… Next turkey… 4.

Fria - HT : 33:46 - 34:06

You want to make a fortitude, say… 29. 29, okay.

So, you made the save, but… you take… 4 points of comm damage.

Wulf - PB : 34:09 - 34:15

4 points of comm damage? This is going to be one of O'Juice's hit points title, isn't it?

Fria - HT : 34:15 - 34:21

Yeah. O'Juice's hit points down by… 2 times his hit points.

Bjarni - PN : 34:36 - 34:40

Turkey number… 7. 5.

Fria - HT : 34:41 - 34:52

Okay. Fortitude save? 24.

Sorry? 24. 24?

Oh, just squeaks by again. Doesn't get turned to stone.

Wulf - PB : 34:55 - 34:57

8. 4.

Fria - HT : 35:00 - 35:21

That's a fortitude. Spilling you much more than 30. Yeah, you made that.

Alright, so that one takes… 3 points of comm damage. Or…

1 or 2 hit dice worth. 1 or 2 times your hit dice.

Bjarni - PN : 35:24 - 35:25

Okay.

Fria - HT : 35:26 - 35:40

So… this group. Alright.

Turkey number 1. It's… 5 and…

a 7. So, we'll do the 7 first, shall we? 7 is…

a 4, so that's…

Jestix - TE : 35:40 - 35:41

It fails.

Fria - HT : 35:41 - 35:45

That fails, so it disappears into… somewhere else, yeah?

Jestix - TE : 35:45 - 35:46

Yeah.

Fria - HT : 35:48 - 36:50

Next one gets an 8 again. 6 and… a 5, so…

5 is… A fail? Probably a fail.

Jim, it's not fortitude. Er, yeah. Er, so…

DC24, if it failed, it gets turned to stone. It probably will, after all the 8s. 6…

and a 3, so… What was the 3? 3 is electricity damage, that's a reflex save.

And the A6? 26, do you say? No, that's 6.

6 is… insane. So, we'll do the reflexes.

It does that. That succeeds the reflexes. So, it takes 40 electricity damage.

Wulf - PB : 36:57 - 36:59

Other one… That goes insane.

Fria - HT : 37:11 - 37:11

6.

Bjarni - PN : 37:15 - 37:17

Natural 1. Goes insane?

Fria - HT : 37:17 - 37:50

Yeah, goes insane. So, the last group of 4. 7.

Natural 20. It doesn't get to go to another plane. 2 for the next one.

So, a reflex save. Fail. 18.

So, 40 points of acid damage.

Wulf - PB : 37:52 - 37:53

40 acids, yeah?

Fria - HT : 37:53 - 37:53

Yeah.

Wulf - PB : 37:59 - 38:01

Next one…

Fria - HT : 38:01 - 38:14

6. Natural 20, it doesn't go insane. Last one gets a 4.

4 is fortitude save.

Wulf - PB : 38:15 - 38:16

It gets 27.

Fria - HT : 38:18 - 39:04

OK, so it takes… 3 points of con damage. Right, so…

That took a while, but… OK, so… Lucky your spelling of the word insane.

Excellent. It could easily be that spelling. That's the thing.

Jestix - TE : 39:04 - 39:05

Yeah.

Fria - HT : 39:06 - 39:26

I mean, it's not, but it could be. You know exactly what it meant. How it's gone quiet again.

See? Well, that was only me putting a microphone out of the way while I drank tea. Right, so 3 of them are insane.

And 4 of them are poofed off into… Nothingness or become stone.

Wulf - PB : 39:37 - 39:39

That was remarkably good.

Fria - HT : 39:41 - 39:41

Enjoyed that.

GM - DF : 39:43 - 39:49

Right. This is a wall or not a wall? Yeah, they're walls.

Fria - HT : 39:50 - 39:54

They're veggie-covered walls. So you have to go through the door, in effect.

GM - DF : 39:55 - 39:57

So how do I get over there?

Fria - HT : 39:57 - 40:00

There's a door here. There's a door just there.

GM - DF : 40:00 - 40:01

Oh, that's a door.

Fria - HT : 40:01 - 40:04

You just walk past. Yeah, walk past both.

GM - DF : 40:07 - 40:08

Right, so…

Fria - HT : 40:08 - 40:32

In the original, it actually was much more easy to spot the difference. When I did the image compression, it kind of… As you go 30 feet away from Wolf, you feel the power of his magic chanting fade.

There's one there, Pete. That's not 30 feet though. You're still within 30 feet there.

GM - DF : 40:33 - 40:52

It doesn't bother me. I did a full move. So that's my turnover.

Although I will put myself on a defensive-y kind of stance. I'll use my combat expertise.

Fria - HT : 40:52 - 40:59

I'm going to assume that you actually used your knowledge to not actually provoke an attack of opportunity.

Bjarni - PN : 41:01 - 41:02

I reckon I did.

Fria - HT : 41:03 - 41:03

Yeah?

Bjarni - PN : 41:05 - 41:06

Er, what?

Fria - HT : 41:07 - 42:16

Well, you actually crossed this one's attack here and here. Yeah, that's fine. I don't mind.

OK, they try to pack you. Well, rolling a natural 2, I very much doubt it hits you. Yep.

Right. Yes, Sticks? Let's have a look, see if I can actually get where I want to go.

Yeah, up the stairs. There's a harpy at the top of the stairs. Yes.

I'm just trying to think what the number says. 60. Yes.

Now it says 75. It's still weird why we didn't use move range. That's because I'm moving in advance.

At 60, I will just about get to there, and Henry will be just behind me, and I will whack it.

Jestix - TE : 42:17 - 42:17

That's it.

Fria - HT : 42:18 - 42:52

There's going to be a twonking, sir. Right, I'm going to get some juice. Where are you?

There you are. Er, 30. Yes.

Er, that's 16 damage.

Wulf - PB : 42:56 - 43:03

I pass, it's DR. There I go.

Fria - HT : 43:07 - 44:02

Well. Bet they were unhappy the door opened. All the insane ones from the moment.

Gobble, gobble, gobble. Gobble, gobble, gobble. Gobble, gobble, gobble.

Gobble, gobble, gobble. How can we tell the difference? Gobble, gobble, gobble.

How far can they move? Right, so there's going to be six attacking the Orni. One of them will evoke an attack of opportunity.

Wulf - PB : 44:04 - 44:18

Yeah, that's perfectly reasonable. Unless of course they have really good tumbling abilities. They don't default to tumbling abilities.

Fria - HT : 44:22 - 44:50

So, what's the insane ones do? Er, yes, that's the… Was it language spell?

Er, it probably says in the first handbook. It's a symbol of insanity. I can see a spell called insanity.

Yeah, so if you…

Wulf - PB : 44:52 - 44:58

It's a continual confusion spell as a spell. Okay, so it's confusion.

Fria - HT : 45:09 - 45:26

Confusion. Effectively it's a D10. Yeah.

Okay, so we've got three of them.

Wulf - PB : 45:31 - 45:31

Nice.

Fria - HT : 45:31 - 46:59

So there's seven, which is attack nearest creature. No, seven… Seven would be…

Because eight, nine and ten would be attack nearest creature. Seven would be flee away from caster at top speed. No, I think you'll find that one is the tens.

Okay. Yeah, if it's the tens, 51 to 70 is flee away from caster at top speed, at least on my version. Yeah, because it's going to be one, two, three, four, five, six, seven…

Yes, and you rolled a seven, so seven would be flee away from caster. Ah, flee from caster, yeah, okay. So nine is going to be attack nearest and six is going to be flee away.

Okay, so we've got two that are going to run away and one that's going to attack the nearest. So, turkey on turkey action. Yeah, and I always like to see a big gobbling going on.

Wulf - PB : 47:03 - 47:05

Well, let's just say these two run away.

Jestix - TE : 47:05 - 47:05

Yeah.

Fria - HT : 47:11 - 47:32

This one's going to attack his mate. So what we want next round is those two to both attack the nearest. Okay.

So Pete, you'll get one attack of opportunity against a turkey coming in to attack you.

Wulf - PB : 47:33 - 47:36

Hurrah! The rest are going to the bottom.

GM - DF : 47:38 - 47:46

Okay. Bum, bum, bum, bum, bum.

Wulf - PB : 47:48 - 47:50

One attack of opportunity.

GM - DF : 47:52 - 48:00

So that'll be… 43 to hit.

Fria - HT : 48:01 - 48:27

Yeah, okay, roll a d6. Well, it's only going to be a d5, but… 6 or 1?

One of them was already within his range because it attacked him as he went past. Well, I was assuming this is as they all swarm in. Oh, that's right, yeah, one of them was.

So here's a d5, yeah, you're right. So which?

GM - DF : 48:27 - 48:28

A 1.

Fria - HT : 48:29 - 48:33

Okay, so that turkey there is the one that gets your damage.

GM - DF : 48:35 - 48:54

Are they evil? No. Okay.

33 points of damage.

Bjarni - PN : 48:54 - 49:10

Okay, so 5 of them attack you.

Fria - HT : 49:14 - 49:38

A certain amount of… 5 lots of pecking actions and 5 lots of clawing actions. Okay.

Look out, they may turn you into a were-o. LAUGHTER Good luck with that. Okay, of the biting attacks, the highest I get is 20.

GM - DF : 49:40 - 49:41

Not even close.

Fria - HT : 49:44 - 49:53

4 attacks, that's… I get a 30. Nope.

Another claw attack.

Wulf - PB : 49:54 - 50:00

The highest I get is 31.

GM - DF : 50:01 - 50:05

Nope. And even if you apply a standing up bonus, you still won't get close.

Fria - HT : 50:06 - 51:00

That's true, some of them would have plus 2 on that, so… Okay. The insane one attacking his friend.

Right. Actually doesn't know I've got his armour. These two, I think, have to double move to get close to Henry.

Okay. I think. So they will attack next round.

So, it's the Harpies. Harpie number 1 and Harpie number 2 here are going to fire arrows at you.

Wulf - PB : 51:18 - 51:20

4 arrows come from each one.

Jestix - TE : 51:21 - 51:22

Ooh.

GM - DF : 51:32 - 51:34

They're uber character-class Harpies.

Jestix - TE : 51:35 - 51:35

Yeah.

Fria - HT : 51:40 - 51:45

And you can smite with arrows, can't you? I don't see why not.

Wulf - PB : 51:49 - 51:50

Okay, so…

Fria - HT : 51:56 - 52:00

That's not going to hit. That's going to be 37.

GM - DF : 52:01 - 52:02

Ooh, you were so close.

Wulf - PB : 52:06 - 52:18

Then the others of that arrow, of that one, don't hit. The other Harpie, it gets 30 as its highest.

GM - DF : 52:19 - 52:26

Nope. I duck and weave and flail my sword around effectively.

Fria - HT : 52:27 - 52:35

You do see them, you know, crackling with evil energy. And they are silver-tipped as well.

GM - DF : 52:35 - 52:40

Oh, even better. Someone taking me seriously.

Bjarni - PN : 52:42 - 52:44

Okay, Harpie up here.

Fria - HT : 52:46 - 52:53

Yes, you are right, Pete. Sorry, Tim. There is, in fact, another Harpie, which is here.

GM - DF : 52:59 - 53:00

Hiding on the balcony.

Fria - HT : 53:00 - 53:22

Yeah, because there's a long balcony up here. It starts singing to distract you all. Shut down.

Which I think has no effect, but it might do on Peony.

GM - DF : 53:23 - 53:24

I doubt it very much.

Fria - HT : 53:26 - 53:41

No, I get to make a performance check. Is he still within your area? 30 feet.

Even for the people who are in my area, I still need to make a performance check, which they can use as their saves.

GM - DF : 53:43 - 53:51

I'm immune to charming. Are you? I'm a high-level paladin.

Jestix - TE : 53:53 - 53:54

They get that, do they?

GM - DF : 53:55 - 54:02

Yep. I don't get seduced by… Everyone.

Succubi and stuff like that.

Fria - HT : 54:05 - 54:32

You're just not trying, are you? You're missing out. I think you all need to make saves, don't you?

Okay. So Wulf gets a 44. Goodness.

So everybody can use that apart from Peony. I'll use that, please, because I couldn't get a 44. 44?

GM - DF : 54:33 - 54:35

That's pretty stonking.

Fria - HT : 54:36 - 54:46

Well, that's because it's my performance check. Assuming you're wearing your one-man band kit. I'm not at the moment.

That's not even included in there.

Bjarni - PN : 54:47 - 54:47

Dearie me.

Fria - HT : 54:51 - 57:21

Because I don't have a performance skill in one of the required areas, it's not as good for me. So next level. And I'm also immune to charms.

Are you? Protection from evil. Yeah, that means you can't be taken over.

It does actually say charms. That's what I was double-checking. It says what the Harpy's effect is, really.

Exercise mental control on creatures including enchantments, charms, effects and enchantments, compulsions. Nice. I remember that ring.

So do I, occasionally. But it's handy you did that, because it reminded me I needed to double-check, because it improves my armor class if they're evil. She makes a five-foot step back and then fires four lots of arrows at you.

37 to hit? No. 37 to hit?

Gracious me. I'm going to have to Uber these up. Yeah.

The problem is that they become so Uber. So three arrows come zooming towards you. With some futility, she's annoying.

Right, OK, back to the beginning, Lysandelle. Lysandelle, yeah, she reckons that things have happened. So she moves up to just behind Freya.

And is going to shoot one of the ones that's about to hit Henry. The rear one.

Bjarni - PN : 57:22 - 57:24

With a double shot.

Fria - HT : 57:26 - 57:42

Or not. AC-26.

Wulf - PB : 57:45 - 57:46

AC-26, is it?

Fria - HT : 57:54 - 59:25

Are they affected by cold? Yes. They're not frozen turkeys.

Yeah. They will be. I've already started the grill.

I'm just going to make a slight change to them while you're doing this. Because all the turkeys do, in fact, heal slightly. Two arrows fly forth from her bow.

Impale this turkey. With 39 points of damage. There's a icy sheen over it.

She appraises her shot and says, ah, beautiful. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! He's a turkey twizzler.

OK, that. We'll have to start calling her Bernard. One just disappeared, didn't it?

Yes, there was… an extra one there.

GM - DF : 59:27 - 59:33

Where'd it go? I don't know, my mouse was nowhere near it.

Fria - HT : 59:35 - 59:37

I stole that turkey.

Wulf - PB : 59:42 - 59:46

It had that many hit points, so… that one can do it.

Fria - HT : 59:53 - 1:00:01

I bet you when I look later I'm going to find it high up in the sky on a table or something stupid like that.

GM - DF : 1:00:05 - 1:00:07

It took flight. Yes.

Fria - HT : 1:00:15 - 1:02:26

Ok, so the turkeys heal a little bit on their go, it didn't actually make any difference to anything. Dammit. I was listening to Dale, you damaged that turkey, Freya.

Quick question, is Ammonstoot's true sight still running? Yes. So, has he seen anything other than the obvious in here?

And told us over the back channel. Not what Dave has told us. I can tell you that there was a table over here.

That's what I'm aiming for. How long does it take me to swap a ring? Action.

Action. Ok, so I swap a ring. Or, I could just try a spell and see.

So, I am going to try a Mage Hand. 65 feet? Is that enough to…

I'll try a Mage Hand to see if I can move the gem. Now, as I was told, if it gets put to the floor, it disarms, or if the original person picks it up. I'm trying to remember what you said last week.

I've got notes, let me have a look. It is stopped by picking it up or destroying it. Ok, your Mage Hand flies over there to where the gem is.

There's lots of things in the way, perhaps, just for whatever. You do find it, and you try to grasp it, and your Mage Hand can't. My Mage Hand cannot grasp it.

Ok, that's my Mage Hand. That's me done. And can I swap ring?

No, that's enough.

Bjarni - PN : 1:02:27 - 1:02:28

I can't swap a ring.

Fria - HT : 1:02:28 - 1:02:51

That's move action. You can… I'll swap a ring.

I'm putting on a ring of Telekinesis. And taking off, you'll notice my ring of Wizardry, so I no longer have 14 first level spells. It's halved and rounded down.

Or second level spells.

Bjarni - PN : 1:03:08 - 1:03:12

Why is there a Harpy on top of that Harpy?

Fria - HT : 1:03:17 - 1:03:24

We didn't want them to say. This is Harpy on Harpy action.

Bjarni - PN : 1:03:27 - 1:03:32

There's definite weirdness. There's a table today.

Fria - HT : 1:03:40 - 1:04:26

That's weird. Anyway, sorry. Wolf.

He seems to have frozen in indecision. He's thinking about two Harpies. That's the problem.

We have Harpy on Harpy action. Who wins? I think we hit.

Wolf advances forward to this spare looking Turkey here. And swings his mighty weapon in its general direction. Okay.

He'll take a 10 point fire attack. Is it a magical creature? Magical beast or whatever it is.

Bjarni - PN : 1:04:27 - 1:04:31

It looks pretty weird to you. How would you know?

Fria - HT : 1:04:32 - 1:04:39

Well, damage purposes. I've got an axe of magical creature damage.

Bjarni - PN : 1:04:39 - 1:04:45

Okay, so roll to hit. And then I'll tell you whether you need to do extra damage or not. Okay.

Fria - HT : 1:05:00 - 1:06:31

So. 29. Or possibly more.

Alright. So I've hit it. Do I do more damage or the same damage?

Same. It's not a magical monstrous creature. Okay.

33 damage. This Harpy here. Shooting arrows into Bjarne, isn't it?

Up on a kind of like a sticky out gargoyle point. She sees the bear turn around and fly through the air towards her. With a ferocious look on its face.

It's about to chop her in half. So some sort of will saving throw. As a phantasmal killer heads in her general direction.

Wulf - PB : 1:06:32 - 1:06:32

Wow.

Bjarni - PN : 1:06:40 - 1:06:41

12.

Fria - HT : 1:06:50 - 1:07:43

This phantasmal killer probably does actually hit. Okay, so she believes it's real. If the phantasm touches the target, the subject must succeed at a fortitude save or die from fear.

12. Excellent. Spell resistance.

Alright, so make a spell penetration roll, yeah? Yep. Not penetration rolls on a Harpy on Harpy action.

Getting worse. Well, I rolled quite well. It's going to be 13.

Bjarni - PN : 1:07:43 - 1:07:46

Yeah, okay, I'm not even going to bother with your laughs. You made it.

Fria - HT : 1:07:49 - 1:07:56

Just seeing if there's any kind of like can't be. Can't be killed. Is she wearing a helm of telepathy?

Jestix - TE : 1:07:57 - 1:07:57

No.

Fria - HT : 1:07:59 - 1:08:00

Okay.

Jestix - TE : 1:08:03 - 1:08:04

Is she immune to fear?

Wulf - PB : 1:08:08 - 1:08:17

No. I think that's dead, isn't it? Falls to the ground.

Fria - HT : 1:08:22 - 1:08:28

Death by imaginary bear. Is that worse than death by bear?

GM - DF : 1:08:29 - 1:08:32

If only my intimidate could do the same thing.

Bjarni - PN : 1:08:38 - 1:08:44

Alright, that's a hum done. You're on it, you'll go.

Fria - HT : 1:08:45 - 1:08:56

It's grounded by four of them, I think. Five. Five.

But one you should ignore for the moment because it's got, or it had turkey on turkey action.

GM - DF : 1:08:58 - 1:09:23

Right. I will drop, no, I'll keep my combat expertise running and I'll cleave at the same time. Five point power attack.

Sorry, I hopefully begin to cleave. Right, so attack number one is a 31. Yep.

Bjarni - PN : 1:09:24 - 1:09:25

Which one are you going for?

GM - DF : 1:09:26 - 1:09:29

We'll start at the…

Fria - HT : 1:09:30 - 1:09:33

Start at the one that's got 62 damage on its chest.

GM - DF : 1:09:34 - 1:09:35

Sorry, which one?

Fria - HT : 1:09:36 - 1:09:37

This one.

GM - DF : 1:09:37 - 1:09:42

I'll start there and go round in an anti-clockwise direction.

Wulf - PB : 1:09:43 - 1:09:43

This one, yeah?

GM - DF : 1:09:44 - 1:10:18

Yep. Right, so that will be… 45 points of damage.

Right, continue the cleave action. It's not dead. It's not dead.

Oh, it's not dead. No.

Fria - HT : 1:10:19 - 1:10:25

Interesting. All right. These turkeys seem to be well overcooked.

GM - DF : 1:10:26 - 1:10:28

Okay. All right.

Bjarni - PN : 1:10:29 - 1:10:30

Charming into them is hard.

GM - DF : 1:10:34 - 1:11:06

Okay, another 31 to hit with my second attack. Yep. Hmm.

40 points of damage. Still there. Still there.

Okay. Third attack. Stop.

Okay, a threat, but are they kind of undead-ish?

Bjarni - PN : 1:11:07 - 1:11:09

No, they're not undead. You can threaten them.

GM - DF : 1:11:10 - 1:11:24

Okay. That's definitely… Oh, it might not be…

30… Oh, yes, it is. It's a success.

So, double damage.

Fria - HT : 1:11:25 - 1:11:30

I would expect your minimum is going to kill it. You can roll this if you want.

GM - DF : 1:11:33 - 1:11:42

Er… Plus 39 is 37, so 74 points of damage.

Fria - HT : 1:11:45 - 1:12:03

Well and truly sliced and diced and filleted into nice little chunks ready for Thanksgiving. This is curry. Yeah, or sandwiches or something.

I think you might need a very, very foul curry to take away the…

GM - DF : 1:12:05 - 1:12:21

Er… 20… 40?

Yes. Okay. And then my last attack.

This. That's me done. Yay.

Fria - HT : 1:12:25 - 1:13:13

That didn't go quite as I expected it to. They were a bit harder than you thought, weren't they? Mmm.

Chest it clean. Yeah, healed a bit. Five foot step and whack the…

Harpy. First blow being a stunning fist. That's a hit.

That's a 39. Right, so it takes… What sort of attack is a stunning fist?

Bludgeoning. I don't know, is it a…

Jestix - TE : 1:13:17 - 1:13:19

It's a physical attack.

Fria - HT : 1:13:19 - 1:14:54

Yeah. But isn't it a SU or SB or whatever? Er…

From my point of view, it is… Er… Hmm, it doesn't…

Let's have to look on the… You've got Spell Resistance. Sometimes Spell Resistance applies to those sorts of attacks.

No, I think it's just general. Okay. Cool, then.

So she'll have some kind of save, like Fortitude or Will. Fortitude. And I think she might make that…

28. Okay. Got a stunning fist due to her.

She drops her crossbow. And she's unable to attack me until it gets back round to my turn again. Okay.

And then I'll continue the attack sequence. So do some damage. Oh, yeah, yeah.

14 damage. Does 30 hit? Yes.

Right, so I've got three further hits.

Jestix - TE : 1:14:54 - 1:14:55

Oh, come on.

Fria - HT : 1:15:09 - 1:16:10

9, 13, 40 damage. Okay, she used a magic weapon. Yeah.

She used it. And Henry attacks one of the turkeys. Strangely enough, as he's there trying to gobble him.

31, doing 18 damage. And a trip has a… Well, 22, almost minimum.

GM - DF : 1:16:19 - 1:16:20

34.

Fria - HT : 1:16:21 - 1:16:45

Did all the turkeys attack everybody, including… as well as Bjarne? All the turkeys did attack last round, yes.

All the turkeys are good. Okay, that's me. Right, so those turkeys that are hurt regenerate a bit.

Bjarni - PN : 1:16:51 - 1:16:52

Oh, yes, they haven't gone this round yet.

Wulf - PB : 1:17:40 - 1:17:41

Turkeys.

Fria - HT : 1:17:55 - 1:18:06

Okay, so all those turkeys heal a little bit. I've got four still attacking Bjarne.

Wulf - PB : 1:18:07 - 1:18:20

They will still carry on. There's four attacking you.

GM - DF : 1:18:21 - 1:18:25

Four pecks, four claws.

Fria - HT : 1:18:25 - 1:18:38

Yeah, four pecks. Best biting action on you is 32. Nope.

34, actually.

Wulf - PB : 1:18:40 - 1:18:46

So then there's best clawing action.

GM - DF : 1:18:57 - 1:19:02

35. Nope. Are you going to need natural 20s to hit me?

Wulf - PB : 1:19:02 - 1:19:03

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

Fria - HT : 1:19:04 - 1:19:15

That was a 19 that time. Okay, so no turkeys attacking. But actually get Bjarne.

We've got one going on Volf, and we've got two on…

Bjarni - PN : 1:19:21 - 1:19:24

biting on Volf. Natural one.

Fria - HT : 1:19:26 - 1:19:36

Four. Or miss. Henry.

Two bites. Ooh, they might hit.

Bjarni - PN : 1:19:41 - 1:19:45

31 and 32. Nope.

Fria - HT : 1:19:47 - 1:20:14

31 and 32 don't bite Henry. Nope. He's got harder than I remember him.

I cast a bark skin on him. His claws don't work either. But still.

I think that's all the turkeys, isn't it? So we've got three turkeys who are randomly acting. We've got a 9, a 10…

Bjarni - PN : 1:20:16 - 1:20:17

What's a 9 and a 10?

Fria - HT : 1:20:20 - 1:20:25

Attacking you. And the other one is acting normally.

Bjarni - PN : 1:20:35 - 1:20:37

I'm going to say these two start attacking each other.

Fria - HT : 1:20:41 - 1:20:59

And this one decides to bite into you. You're weak. Bite.

Miss. Claw natural 20! Got a natural 20 on a Krepner.

Wulf - PB : 1:21:01 - 1:21:09

And the other one's doing…

Fria - HT : 1:21:09 - 1:21:21

D6 plus 12 damage to you. Bypassing. Is it smiting you?

No, it's not smiting you, is it? No. It's the harpies that smite.

Bjarni - PN : 1:21:26 - 1:21:32

Yeah, 12. 15 points of damage. Not bypassing.

Fria - HT : 1:21:37 - 1:21:56

Haven't got silver claws. Not wrapped in tinfoil. Seeing that they didn't seem to have much effect against Bjorni, the other two remaining harpies…

Bjarni - PN : 1:22:03 - 1:22:04

Sorry, I've got these two damaged, haven't I?

Jestix - TE : 1:22:05 - 1:22:05

Yeah.

Wulf - PB : 1:22:48 - 1:22:55

What are they going to do? I expect this to be a little bit easier than that.

Fria - HT : 1:23:07 - 1:23:34

This harpy up here is going to fire at Wulf. Because Wulf is obviously stopping her song from working. True.

This harpy will just carry on firing at Bjorni. He's a pirate and he needs to be shot at. Yes.

Is that false?

Jestix - TE : 1:23:36 - 1:23:36

Yep.

Fria - HT : 1:23:43 - 1:24:09

32. Close. I may see 35.

Natural 20. I'll do it. Which is a natural 1 on the threat.

So you get 1 roll of damage. From her composite strength bow.

Bjarni - PN : 1:24:19 - 1:24:26

You have 10 points of damage. Oh, you're within 30, aren't you? Oh, another point.

Fria - HT : 1:24:28 - 1:24:57

So 11 points, yeah? Yep. So what was that last point for?

I missed what you said. Within 30 foot. That one?

Yeah. Bjorni, natural 1. And no 19s.

Sorry, no 20s. So a whole host of arrows come towards Bjorni and this harpy there.

Bjarni - PN : 1:24:57 - 1:25:03

End of the round.

Fria - HT : 1:25:03 - 1:26:09

Start of the next. Bing. Bing.

What? You're getting used to the foundry already. Yeah.

It expects the sound effects. DIY foundry sound effects. Okay, Isendale will shoot one of the wands on Henry.

Repeatedly. So 31, 32, hit 21.

Bjarni - PN : 1:26:10 - 1:26:10

21 to miss.

Fria - HT : 1:26:16 - 1:26:51

So in the 30s as well. The first arrow does 25 damage. Is it still alive?

Almost certainly, given that Bjorni is up to 109 on one of his. The second arrow does 21 damage.

Jestix - TE : 1:26:57 - 1:27:11

Is it still alive? And the third arrow does 49 damage.

Fria - HT : 1:27:28 - 1:27:45

Okay, throw your spell. Okay, I cast a spell on this harpy. Let's start gently with a DC 25 fortitude against blindness.

Wulf - PB : 1:27:46 - 1:27:49

Well, you can do spell penetration rolls first.

Fria - HT : 1:27:49 - 1:28:37

Of course. I love my spell penetration rolls. Let me just roll it and then look up what I had.

It's quite good I think still. It's a 17 plus. Hang on.

So I had 18 to that, so it's 35. So she gets to make a fortitude against what? 25 against blindness.

Fortitude, yeah? Yeah, a nice low level spell for me. Natural one.

How many natural ones have I rolled? There's a lot of die rolling, see?

Bjarni - PN : 1:28:38 - 1:28:41

Okay, so she's gone blind, yeah?

Fria - HT : 1:28:50 - 1:29:37

Wolf. Well, try and kill the thing in front of him. Oh, I think he has to make a concentration check.

Because he's got an ongoing effect and he's been damaged. Yeah, it's something to do proportionally to the amount of damage you took as well. Yeah, I'll see what he gets and then we'll try and figure it out.

So I've got 22 on my concentration check roll. How much damage did you take? 11.

So if it's 10 plus the damage, or if it's 15 plus half the damage, I'm okay.

Bjarni - PN : 1:29:41 - 1:29:43

If it's 15 plus the damage, I'm not okay.

Fria - HT : 1:29:52 - 1:29:59

BMI is trying to get the flock out of here. That is very poor.

GM - DF : 1:29:59 - 1:30:02

Thank you very much, I worked on that one.

Wulf - PB : 1:30:02 - 1:30:05

10 plus damage taken plus spell level.

Fria - HT : 1:30:10 - 1:30:18

Well, it doesn't have a spell level as such. It doesn't say that I need to roll it specifically.

Bjarni - PN : 1:30:20 - 1:30:22

Well, you make it anyway, don't you?

Fria - HT : 1:30:24 - 1:30:35

Yeah. Unless we deem that the spell level is quite high, you still make it. Okay, so he still carries Uncharting.

He's going to hit the thing in front of him.

Bjarni - PN : 1:30:40 - 1:30:45

5 point per attack. Start off well.

Fria - HT : 1:31:07 - 1:31:26

We're looking for the mid-20s, aren't we? Any… 2 over 30, 2 less than 20.

Jestix - TE : 1:31:40 - 1:31:41

5 and 4.

Fria - HT : 1:31:45 - 1:32:17

18, 36. Only 45 damage. He looks at his axe in surprise.

Need to change the axe.

Wulf - PB : 1:32:25 - 1:32:29

Back to whose go is it next? Amun's turn to go.

Fria - HT : 1:32:30 - 1:33:33

Amun. He comes out here. And he flies up.

So he's about here-ish. Up somewhat, so he can… Doing for this Harvick that's busy firing arrows down.

And he's going to cast a Blindness spell, which is what he thought. Sorry. Well, I was going to do it in the other one.

He needs a spell penetration roll, which I actually think he needs a 1. He needs more than a 1, I would think. At least 21, I'd say.

Okay. You want to make a DC 20… Sorry, DC 19.

42, I guess, if it's Blindness. 42. A roll of 3.

Jestix - TE : 1:33:36 - 1:33:37

Hurrah!

Bjarni - PN : 1:33:41 - 1:33:42

Another hyping line.

Jestix - TE : 1:33:50 - 1:33:50

Yay.

Fria - HT : 1:33:56 - 1:34:09

Are you okay there, Pete? Or Bjarni, kind of blatting away in the middle? Or do you need any fire support?

You don't look like you're in any way under threat. Cool. You need the exercise, then.

Bjarni - PN : 1:34:10 - 1:34:12

I'm sorry, no. Bjarni.

GM - DF : 1:34:13 - 1:34:16

Alright. Continuing where I left off.

Fria - HT : 1:34:18 - 1:34:28

This one? Okay. Let us begin.

Lettuce and turkeys? Are you making a sandwich?

GM - DF : 1:34:29 - 1:34:34

Okay. 33… No, 38 to hit.

Fria - HT : 1:34:37 - 1:34:46

Yes. Dave isn't dealing that with an answer.

GM - DF : 1:34:47 - 1:34:49

41 points of damage with the first blow.

Fria - HT : 1:34:54 - 1:35:14

99. Still there, probably. Yep.

Second hit is a 33. Are you doing this without a power attack, that amount of damage? I'm doing it with a 5-point power attack.

And combat expertise? Yep. Can you combine the two?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can.

Wulf - PB : 1:35:14 - 1:35:16

I'm pretty sure I looked that up. Yeah.

Fria - HT : 1:35:17 - 1:35:21

Cool. That's one of the things on my list.

GM - DF : 1:35:22 - 1:35:33

I know I'm not scything my way through them, but they're not particularly evil, so… It kind of reduces my awesome damage output to just being…

Fria - HT : 1:35:33 - 1:35:40

I was impressed that you were doing 45 damage, but I didn't think you could power attack, but… Fair enough.

GM - DF : 1:35:44 - 1:36:08

So where was I? 33 to hit, which is a hit. Yes.

Only doing 36 points of damage. All right. Now a cleave.

That's a hit. Oh, he auto-rolled those dice for me.

Fria - HT : 1:36:11 - 1:36:11

Yep.

GM - DF : 1:36:13 - 1:36:31

Doing 39 points of damage. My third attack is a miss, and my fourth attack is a miss.

Fria - HT : 1:36:33 - 1:36:38

OK. Turkeys seem amazed that only one of them left.

GM - DF : 1:36:42 - 1:36:48

Wow. Presidential pardon. Should that be a paladinic pardon?

Fria - HT : 1:36:49 - 1:36:58

Yeah. Your character wants to run along here. I'm going to.

I'm going to run along there and attack the blind harpy.

Wulf - PB : 1:37:00 - 1:37:10

I think she at least loses a dex bonus. Plus…

Fria - HT : 1:37:11 - 1:38:05

I think she's two points easier to hit, and she loses her dex to AC from memory, but… I hit her. Doing 14 damage, and Henry attacks the turkey.

27, is that a hit? It's turkey, yeah. Yeah.

All right, well, he does 18 damage and has another attempt at tripping. Let's see if we can get something better than a 2 on the dice. That's a 30.

Still not brilliant, but…

Wulf - PB : 1:38:08 - 1:38:22

This time you've actually succeeded. Apple is the one that's always difficult to find on these characters. Yeah.

Yeah, you've succeeded. Woohoo!

Fria - HT : 1:38:27 - 1:38:50

He's going to be chewing on turkey soon. And remember not to eat the bones. I'm looking at the state of these turkeys, they wouldn't eat the flesh either.

Yeah, they're a horrible looking monkey. That's only on the outside. Right, so the turkeys get fractually better.

Wulf - PB : 1:38:56 - 1:38:57

Save their lives.

Fria - HT : 1:39:45 - 1:39:49

How long does the confusion last for? Permanent.

GM - DF : 1:39:50 - 1:39:51

Insanity is permanent.

Bjarni - PN : 1:39:56 - 1:39:57

Okay, so…

Fria - HT : 1:39:59 - 1:40:28

I currently have at least three turkeys attacking the golem, or attacking the wolf, two blind barbies. I thought you said blind barbies then. Let's do the insanity checks this time.

Wulf - PB : 1:40:29 - 1:40:46

First, 2, 1, 4. So that's attack, caster, with melee or ranged weapons, or close if not.

Fria - HT : 1:40:48 - 1:41:54

Or… Do nothing but babble. So two are going to chase after Amun-Stut.

Can the turkeys fly? Yeah. So this turkey flaps into the air.

Flap, flap, flap, flap, flap, flap. Falls to the ground. This turkey flaps into the air.

Flap, flap, flap, flap, flap, flap. Won't get a chance. Oh, fantastic.

I think I'm just going to yell pull and wait for his indulgence. This turkey sits there and gobbles. Go on!

So, three on Yorny. Neck attacks. No 20s.

No 20s.

GM - DF : 1:41:56 - 1:42:03

No 20s. You're really rolling below average now. You should have got a natural 20 on me by now.

Fria - HT : 1:42:05 - 1:44:27

One on Wolf. All below 5. Sorry, all below 6.

Not even going to do the maths. So, Harpy. Didn't spot blind attack on her.

Just imagine trying to do this fighter on pantry. It would take so long to roll the dice. It would at the moment because we're not very proficient at it.

I've rolled 16 turkey attacks. Four times. Yeah, but you were just going click, click, click, click and it will tell you hit or miss.

Once we get better at it, it will be much quicker. I agree. Initial.

We have been doing this for years. Yeah. Session 208?

Nine. Well, as they have no other vision types, I assume this one will flaily try to attack where it thinks Jestix is. And I would assume it's a 50% mischance.

Yeah, assuming he's got an idea which square he's in, it's a 50% mischance. Well, given he got tonked from somewhere to his left a moment ago. Yes.

So, she will take a five foot step back and then put three arrows into the area. Increasing her odds. Nothing above 30.

No, missed! Bitch! Bastard!

Jestix - TE : 1:44:29 - 1:44:36

Die! You just die!

Bjarni - PN : 1:44:44 - 1:44:51

Can the blind harpy fire where she was firing her arrow before? No, they couldn't do that.

Jestix - TE : 1:44:52 - 1:44:58

No, I don't think so. That's why she's got 50%.

Fria - HT : 1:44:58 - 1:45:23

She's in archery. The one up here firing on Bjorni has just fired on Bjorni. I'd say yes, but if you get something really bad, you're going to hit one of the turkeys.

Well, that's a good point. Yeah, because she's firing wildly into combat now. She can fire at it because there is noise going on there.

Bjarni - PN : 1:45:25 - 1:45:29

True, she's got fire into combat. What's the effect of not having that?

Fria - HT : 1:45:30 - 1:45:32

There's a miss.

Bjarni - PN : 1:45:32 - 1:45:33

Minus four, is it?

Fria - HT : 1:45:34 - 1:47:50

Yeah, minus four, yeah. You still effectively have to roll a 20. Yeah.

Just don't roll a one because you get a turkey. Okay, arrows get fired in the general direction of Bjorni and miss completely and none of them hit turkeys either. Okay, all that dice rolling for nothing.

What's the tripped one doing? Tripped one? Yeah, the one that's attacking Henry.

Oh, well, it's too stupid to think about it shouldn't get up or anything. It just gets up. It takes a full round action to get up.

In which case Henry hits it. Yeah, and it doesn't have any kind of dodge or whatever abilities. It's only an action to get up, not a full round.

So it'll move action to get up. If it still survives, it'll do a… Oh, it'll still survive.

I think it's an action rather than a move action, but I don't know. Might need to check that. Henry hits because he's only doing small amounts of damage each time.

Another 18. Stand up is a move action. So it stands up, I attack, and then he can attack me.

Otherwise a trip would be just awful because if you get good at it, you just keep them on the ground. Yes, so you roll to attack. I have attacked, I don't think.

18 damage. Try to peck Henry. Roll on 20.

Natural one.

Bjarni - PN : 1:47:56 - 1:47:58

Right, so end of the round, start the new round, Isindel.

Fria - HT : 1:47:59 - 1:49:43

Isindel takes a five minute step forward and takes the lead from Freya and shoots the one that's rapidly heading towards Adam. 29, 31, 4, and 16. AC 18.

We need 25. Okay, so three hits. Oh, that's tricky.

First blow does 17 damage. Second blow does 20 damage. Third blow does 57 damage.

Wulf - PB : 1:50:00 - 1:50:09

Damage is quite… perhaps. It's still there.

Fria - HT : 1:50:20 - 1:50:46

Okay, that's her done. Okay, I'm going to have some fun. Are the two turkeys within 10 feet of each other?

Which two turkeys? The two flying ones.

Bjarni - PN : 1:50:46 - 1:50:46

No.

Fria - HT : 1:50:47 - 1:55:00

Wolfs and… There's a flying one there and the other flying one's down here. Okay, so there's one here, isn't there?

And one here. And the first one is fighting Bjarne? Yes.

And that one is flying over to try and get Hammonstoot. Well, it did what turkeys call flying, which is just kind of several flaps in the air. Yeah, realistically, it's not going to get Hammonstoot unless it climbs up the wall.

It's like chickens. Chickens can fly. Just not long and far.

The average chicken regards flying as only if there was something tasty. Okay, in which case there's no threat there. This poor harpy over here, my preferred one, I slam her into the wall and twist her around so she's disoriented.

So that is a telekinesic violent thrust. I think she gets spell resistance. Yes, well, I'm pretty sure you need a natural one to fail.

Yeah, so… Spell resistance… A fun, evil-looking harpy she is.

Okay, not a natural one. She is hurled, I think. Yep.

I'm just reading it. You can hurl one object or creature per castle level. Ten feet…

Oh, no. Ten feet per level I can hurl them, so that's 150 feet. And up to 375 pounds, which is 170 kilos.

So I can throw 170 kilos 150 feet, but I must make an attack roll with my intelligence modifier and my base attack bonus. So I must actually make a range touch, I think. So, is that sound about right?

So, my melee bonus plus my charisma bonus instead of strength. That's useful, that adds eight. I thought you said int.

Charisma for a sorcerer, sorry. So, it's… So, my offensive roll is 18 plus…

13 minus 0, plus 8. That's 21, maybe. Will negates.

Yeah, if they make a will saving throw. The will negates in some circumstances. There's lots of different things you can do with it.

I think I've just got a hit, as far as I can tell. The will negates is for sustained force. Which one are you doing?

I'm doing the violent thrust. And the target is a nearby wall. So I'm hurling her against a wall.

I don't really care whether it damages her or not, she's going to be disoriented and not know where she's firing. But I'd love to throw her 150 feet, just for fun.

Bjarni - PN : 1:55:00 - 1:55:02

Have you rolled your attack roll?

Fria - HT : 1:55:02 - 1:56:50

I did, and I got a 38. I rolled very well. Blimey, I think that's your highest ever attack roll, isn't it?

It is. That's because I'm not using strength. I have none of that, but I have a lot of charisma.

Paragraph after that. Creatures who fall within the weight capacity of the spell can be hurled, but they are allowed a will save. And spell resistance negates the effect.

Yep. So they do get a will. If a telekinesis creature is hurled into solid surface, it takes damage to be formed.

That's exactly what I was just about to rule. Anybody think you'd better rules? That's it.

It's not really going to be massively effective, but so long as she doesn't get hurled… 80. She fails, I'm assuming.

Smack her against a wall for DC. Which wall? Just nearest.

I don't really care. I'd love to throw her 150 feet. Yeah, that'll do nicely.

Smack her into a wall over there. So it's 4D6, I guess, when you roll? I think that's different to the Pathfinder version.

I think it's like D6 11.

Bjarni - PN : 1:56:52 - 1:56:53

Yeah.

Fria - HT : 1:56:54 - 1:59:45

It's D6 for every 25 pounds, which is per level. So it is D6. If a telekinesis creature is hurled against a solid surface, it takes damage to be formed 10 feet.

6 points. So 1D6. That's exactly what I was going to say it should be.

That sounds about right. If I throw something at it, it can do a lot of damage. I can accelerate a bolt or something at it.

But no, I didn't. I'm just throwing her about just for fun. She won't be able to shoot arrows at the fight anymore.

No. Yeah, she will, because it's still making a noise. Yeah.

It's over the book square after you've been flung around. So it's probably a 4D6, huh? Admittedly, there's a chance…

There isn't a fight going on elsewhere to distract… Well, there is. There's one with Henry.

Is that an attack roll? It was an attack roll. You must succeed on an attack roll.

I think there's an ability you could use. There's something I could use? An ability you could use.

What, like, say, something… Sneak attack. I've got a…

I could be a berserker. No, you could sneak. Oh, I could sneak.

Oh, it could be a sneak attack. You could impale her on a branch sticking out of the wall or something. Yeah, okay, it's a sneak attack.

So it's the 4D6 special sneak attack dice. Yeah, which is 2D… So that's 24.

I rolled almost more than that than the other. 24 points of damage just for fun. Smacking her into a wall unexpectedly.

Peeking on a poor blind harpy. And the DR doesn't count against that, I don't think. No, it doesn't.

It will count against the sneak. But it won't count against the falling. Which is 4 points of sneak.

It won't count against the falling. I don't know. It's a good question, because normally the sneak is…

The falling gets passed because of the falling. The sneak normally is just adding on to the damage. It's an untyped…

Yes. I thought this would just be a bit of fun. It's quite a complex issue.

Unfortunately, this is half the… 3.5. Right, so… Well…

She wasn't expecting that. I don't think anyone is. Well, she was also…

To be serious… Several foot up. Yeah, she was on a balcony.

And she gets crashed in, so…

Bjarni - PN : 1:59:45 - 1:59:48

You can give her another 2D6 damage when she falls from…

Fria - HT : 1:59:48 - 2:00:33

The height. Fantastic, because she hits the deck. I suppose I could give her a reflex roll.

That's another 7 points. Hang on a minute. Oh.

She should have a reflex roll, so… Just 1D6 now. But being blind, does that affect her reflexes?

No, it's just… Can she slow herself down as she falls down? Yep, she has got wings.

Okay, no worries. So, do 3. 3 points of damage.

Only 3 points. It all adds up. Yeah, it all helps.

As far as we know, the harpies aren't degenerating. No, they're not. Right, so…

GM - DF : 2:00:33 - 2:00:34

I'm not going to let you take it in.

Fria - HT : 2:00:35 - 2:01:43

That's very silly. Fulff. Fulff bangs his axe on the ground and changes its turn.

Aberrations thing, because you said they were weird. And aberrations are weird. Aberration Bane.

Um… And then he takes 4 attacks with a 5-point parry attack. Slightly better, but no crit.

Um… You hit? Well, I…

I'd say, well, at least once. Twice. Probably 3 times, I would imagine.

3 times a lady? 3 times a turkey. Did I feel as though it was biting extra into the turkey?

Yes, it did, but it didn't make any difference because you only needed, like, 2 more points of damage. Was that sort of red stuff the cranberry sauce, or…? Well, I had that yesterday. Turkey and cranberry baguettes.

Jestix - TE : 2:01:44 - 2:01:46

Oh, fantastic. Keep me Christmassy.

Fria - HT : 2:01:47 - 2:02:44

Well, it was our last Christmas free lunch of the year, so they had a Christmas special. Ha! No such thing.

Free lunch? Was this down the pub, was it? Yeah.

Free lunch every month. Free lunch every month? Yeah.

You're going to get fat on that. What, so you have to, like, you get stamped, do you? Sort of, like, every 29 meals you get 30th free?

No, no, the company pays for it. Ah. Quite a nice thought.

Yeah. Um… The place at Guildford used to do a similar thing.

When I used to go there, Howard, you remember that? The directors used to take us to lunch once a week, once a month. Yeah, that's apparently what they do here, because it's part of the employee retention scheme.

We give you food, you won't leave.

Jestix - TE : 2:02:46 - 2:02:46

It's working.

Fria - HT : 2:02:48 - 2:03:41

That company was also a bunch of asshole managers as well. Smashes this debate. Yeah.

OK, it's Achan's go. Um… Does a turkey be about to jump off of him?

Fly higher, fly higher, do something nasty. He's going to nibble your ankles. He is going to…

Magic Missile Turkey. He's got a few of those. So, Spellepan, Treasure Realm?

No. Is that on bypass? Benny?

I don't think a turkey's had spell resistance. They don't have to, they don't have it anyway. Oh, OK, I thought they did.

Harpies have got spell resistance. Uh… Uh…

Eleven… Sixteen damage.

Bjarni - PN : 2:03:43 - 2:03:43

OK.

Fria - HT : 2:03:44 - 2:03:46

And he will move…

Bjarni - PN : 2:03:47 - 2:03:50

That actually kills this insane turkey.

Jestix - TE : 2:03:50 - 2:03:53

Yay! Well done.

Fria - HT : 2:04:00 - 2:04:11

Yeah. He thinks, mutters to himself and shouts… Five!

Ha ha ha ha!

Bjarni - PN : 2:04:14 - 2:04:22

Ha ha ha ha! You're the…

GM - DF : 2:04:22 - 2:04:35

Three around you. I see two in front… And one behind.

A camouflaged one behind. OK, so, starting off with the one I finished last, right?

Fria - HT : 2:04:35 - 2:04:37

The one behind is called Gordon.

GM - DF : 2:04:38 - 2:04:54

Ha ha. Yeah. Somehow turkey seems apt there.

Ha ha ha! Um… I shouldn't make jokes at his expense, but he's not here to defend himself.

Um…

Fria - HT : 2:04:54 - 2:04:55

And I won't defend him.

GM - DF : 2:04:57 - 2:04:58

Which Gordon are you talking about?

Fria - HT : 2:04:59 - 2:05:07

Oh, it was the Gordon we played with on Friday. Yeah. And he's got a character on tabletop that, half the time, you can't see it because it's the same colour as the background.

Jestix - TE : 2:05:07 - 2:05:09

Oh, right.

GM - DF : 2:05:13 - 2:05:29

And sadly, he annoys another one of the players quite badly. Because he's got a very pedantic, attention-eating style of playing, which is a bit frustrating sometimes.

Fria - HT : 2:05:30 - 2:05:31

On to the limelight, does he?

GM - DF : 2:05:32 - 2:05:35

Not intentionally, but he just likes to…

Fria - HT : 2:05:35 - 2:05:38

He keeps asking questions.

GM - DF : 2:05:39 - 2:06:28

Do lots of extra shit. This is the plotline, it's clearly the plotline. The GM just wants you to follow the plotline.

And he has to start going off in random directions. Trying to create trading companies and, I don't know, form a spy ring and then ask NPCs out of the blue some weird campaign question that was probably relevant 43 sessions ago. But anyway, he's a good old friend, so I can't, I shouldn't make fun of him behind his back.

Right, so that was a 29 to hit with my first blow.

Jestix - TE : 2:06:30 - 2:06:31

Hurrah.

GM - DF : 2:06:37 - 2:06:51

39 damage. My second blow on it is a 28.

Fria - HT : 2:06:58 - 2:06:59

120, I think.

GM - DF : 2:07:00 - 2:07:01

No, no, that was to hit.

Fria - HT : 2:07:01 - 2:07:05

To hit. Oh, sorry. The damage would be much more than that.

GM - DF : 2:07:07 - 2:07:08

Probably.

Fria - HT : 2:07:08 - 2:07:09

I expect to be more than that.

GM - DF : 2:07:10 - 2:07:18

Only a little bit more. 43 points of damage.

Wulf - PB : 2:07:18 - 2:07:19

Awesome.

GM - DF : 2:07:21 - 2:08:11

OK, I continue cleaving round. Then, with a hit, doing 41 points of damage. My third attack is a 27, so that hits.

Good hit. Doing, ouch, 44 points of damage. And my last attack is a miss.

I'm taking down one a round.

Fria - HT : 2:08:13 - 2:08:15

Wasn't what you were hoping for, but it's still effective.

Jestix - TE : 2:08:16 - 2:08:16

Yep.

Fria - HT : 2:08:21 - 2:10:20

I take a five foot step and pummel the harpy. And the first blow is a stunning fist. Technically, you still need to roll to hit.

Yep. After all, some of my unlucky ones, you could actually roll. Does a 27 hit?

Yes. Considering you probably only need 15 at the moment. Considering she's blind.

Well, we'll carry on with the attack, just in case. And the last one might be a threat. Fortitude roll?

Yep, fortitude 28. She gets 18. So she's stunned if she's still alive.

So, well, she might be. 18, 34, 38, plus 38. 76.

Henry? Yes, Henry will bite the one that is attacking him. And hit it.

Doing 17 damage and another trip. He's probably going to succeed on that. That's fairly pitiful.

26.

Wulf - PB : 2:10:22 - 2:10:23

Yep, I just rolled two.

Fria - HT : 2:10:25 - 2:11:28

Fails, falls over. Right, so, it stands up again. Go on then, make your roll.

Stands up. Flaps its wings and gets its feet back under itself. Takes 13.

Still not enough to kill it. Well, it might be because it's got minus 15. Yeah, I don't know.

No? It's fumes, it's on fumes. Turkey fumes.

So, two still insane.

Wulf - PB : 2:11:29 - 2:11:34

And we get five.

Fria - HT : 2:11:37 - 2:12:09

Which is probably attack. One which is attack. Poor person flying it.

Yeah, one is attack the caster, five is do nothing but babble. So, basically the same as before. So, if we keep the one that was flying, carry on with him flying.

Yeah, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop. And he continues going, go on, go on, go on. Small amount of healing.

Wulf - PB : 2:12:30 - 2:12:31

Left.

Bjarni - PN : 2:12:31 - 2:13:00

Not many. So, we've got two turkeys on Bjorni and one on him. Two fight attacks on Bjorni.

No. Oh, an actual 20 for the floor. So, one actual hit on Bjorni.

Fria - HT : 2:13:00 - 2:13:16

I think that is it, isn't it? That's the first one. It's done.

Well, how long was Lomeril cursed where Turkey fought? Just out of interest. That was an age, wasn't it?

Hard luck, Pete. He got you again.

GM - DF : 2:13:16 - 2:13:19

Well, it doesn't affect me, but never mind.

Fria - HT : 2:13:19 - 2:13:24

Ten. Ten points. Doesn't overcome your DR, does it?

GM - DF : 2:13:25 - 2:13:40

Nope. Not only doesn't it overcome my DR, but remember I'm immune to magical diseases and I'm a lycanthropy on top of it. So, I've got like as about as much protection as you can possibly imagine.

Fria - HT : 2:13:41 - 2:13:45

Unlike Wolf, who is now infected by a were-turkey.

Jestix - TE : 2:13:48 - 2:13:49

If they're still were-turkeys.

Fria - HT : 2:13:50 - 2:14:30

They're not, actually. Oh, they're worse. They're not.

They are diapheraled were-turkeys. You just said were in there. So, they are diapheraled turkeys with extra hit dice to make them medium-sized.

Large diapheral turkeys. Yeah. So, Henry, I don't think 25 hits does it?

Jestix - TE : 2:14:30 - 2:14:30

No.

Fria - HT : 2:14:34 - 2:14:36

Yet again, the turkeys fail.

Wulf - PB : 2:14:39 - 2:14:40

More turkey needed.

Fria - HT : 2:14:41 - 2:15:41

More turkeys needed. I still have one bird's eye left. You've got a harpy left.

You've got one? Yes, you've got a harpy. A blind disoriented harpy and stunned harpy.

Oh no, the stunned harpy's dead. Yeah. Okay, I say stunned because I threw her 40 feet into a wall.

I think shocked is the word you're looking for. Yes. Angry, possibly.

Buggered, for sure. Well, that comes next. Right, she scans around the room trying to find out where the combat is.

There's a lot of gobbling about here. Yeah, she succeeds in hearing the bear. Hearing the bear?

Wulf - PB : 2:15:42 - 2:15:47

Growling. We shouldn't be making the grunting, the growling sounds.

GM - DF : 2:15:48 - 2:15:48

Yeah, probably.

Fria - HT : 2:15:51 - 2:17:19

She's still got a mischance, a lot of mischance. Slightly aside, are these weapons… Loads of arrows coming your direction.

Are these weapons she's using auto-reloading? Sorry? Are these weapons auto-reloading?

I think you can, if you're that good, you can draw them at this rate. That's not the rate I'm running, right? She's blind, how the hell is she loading a bow successfully?

She's here, and she's been training since she was a mere chicklet. Fair enough. I mean, after all what do harpies do?

Flap above you and fire arrows at you and scream how horrible. Anyway, she misses. So, background's beginning of the round, isn't it?

This harpy here, which is making a beeline for Ahon. Turkey. Turkey.

Turkey. She will shoot.

GM - DF : 2:17:21 - 2:17:23

Did I move that one? Yeah, you did.

Fria - HT : 2:17:35 - 2:17:56

Three hits. 20 damage. 18 damage.

38 damage.

Wulf - PB : 2:18:05 - 2:18:06

Okay, still there.

Fria - HT : 2:18:10 - 2:20:58

Right. I pick up the harpy again. She's got her DC28 willpower to stop being thrown across the room again.

And I throw her at this were-turkey. You have to overcome her spell resistance. I don't like that one.

Okay, give me a moment. And then you need to do a funny ranged hit thing. Yeah, so the spell resistance is a 19.

I almost… Yeah, there's no chance that will fail. And, oh, it's only a 25 to hit.

He said there's, as you know, might be 28. Anyway, it's quite a good to hit roll. Yeah, you overcome her.

Okay, and so she goes smacking across the room into that were-turkey. I pick her up and I throw her roughly to the ground. Exactly there, please.

This is where it doesn't kill and the turkey gets to attack nearest. Well, I think it's a backstab on the turkey, actually. Yeah, and that's a better use of the backstab.

Didn't expect the harpy to come in that fast. She takes the falling damage and it's a backstab on the turkey. But it's less falling because she's not hitting a hard surface.

Right, are there any rules for smashing people into people? No, not as far as I know. Well, see, if she takes D6 and the turkey takes D6, what's the backstab?

Sounds right. I'm not sure you can get a backstab because it's not a precise attack. Well, it's quite precise.

Rather unexpected. Unexpected? I'll grant you.

And it's coming from back to the back. I'm going to say a D6 plus your sneak attack halved for each. D6 plus my sneak attack halved for each.

Okay. Yeah, so what about damage split between them? So 13 points of damage halved.

So each takes 6. And could they be sprawling on the floor and at least discombobulated, having to get up? Oh yeah, that doesn't cost anything apart from a red faction.

I'll just roll for each of them. Okay.

Jestix - TE : 2:21:05 - 2:21:06

Harpy reflexes.

Fria - HT : 2:21:06 - 2:21:08

Whilst blind.

Bjarni - PN : 2:21:09 - 2:21:18

She gets, well I think it matters. I think she's okay.

Fria - HT : 2:21:18 - 2:21:48

I'm playing skittles. Reflexes. I'm going to say the turkey's been knocked over.

Okay, I'm bringing the meat to the meat grinder Pete. I hope you don't mind me chucking a harpy at you. That's no problem.

Wulf - PB : 2:21:52 - 2:21:54

That's me done. Wolf's go.

Fria - HT : 2:22:02 - 2:22:15

I'm going to use my feet. And I'm just going to lay about the turkey. That's attacking Henry.

I think I'll go for his 5-point parry attack.

Bjarni - PN : 2:22:16 - 2:22:17

Yeah, she wants to do some damage.

Jestix - TE : 2:22:33 - 2:22:39

Food. 59. 54.

Fria - HT : 2:22:42 - 2:22:47

So hit. Actually 26 hits a turkey doesn't it? Yep.

Bjarni - PN : 2:22:59 - 2:23:01

So first blow does.

Fria - HT : 2:23:03 - 2:23:12

Top up on tea.

Bjarni - PN : 2:23:17 - 2:23:18

33 damage.

Fria - HT : 2:23:21 - 2:23:24

Probably an ex-turkey. It's an ex-turkey.

Bjarni - PN : 2:23:26 - 2:23:35

Loads of ore and then shitload more. Gobble to the ore.

Wulf - PB : 2:23:36 - 2:23:37

Hammond's toots again.

Fria - HT : 2:23:46 - 2:24:13

Okay, the insane turkey that's attempted to flap towards Hammond's toot. He's going to mash up his harlot. I'm sure it can bucket you.

20 damage. Okay.

Wulf - PB : 2:24:15 - 2:24:15

Let's do that.

Bjarni - PN : 2:24:18 - 2:24:19

I was robbed he says.

GM - DF : 2:24:27 - 2:24:40

Yoddy. Okay, first attack. Hit.

Jestix - TE : 2:24:46 - 2:24:47

For…

GM - DF : 2:24:47 - 2:24:52

The… No. 41 points of damage.

Fria - HT : 2:24:56 - 2:24:57

Ex-turkey.

Wulf - PB : 2:24:57 - 2:24:58

Ex-turkey, yep.

GM - DF : 2:24:59 - 2:25:11

Okay, then… Please… Also hit.

Fria - HT : 2:25:12 - 2:25:15

Turkey or… Carpy.

GM - DF : 2:25:17 - 2:26:00

For… 41 points of damage. Turkey.

Let's do that. Okay, second attack. K is a 29 to hit.

That's a hit for… 36 points of damage. Third attack.

27 to hit for… 44 points of damage. And…

Last attack. Miss.

Fria - HT : 2:26:06 - 2:26:49

Okay. Okay. Jestix.

Jump off the balcony, run across the room and attack the harpy. Turtus. I think you probably need to make some kind of jumping roll.

Right. Or can you fall umpteen feet? I can fall umpteen feet.

I've also got a cloak of feather fall. I think the cloak of feather fall actually takes you a whole action to fall. Yeah, but I can naturally fall…

Yeah. 30, 40 feet, something like that.

Bjarni - PN : 2:26:51 - 2:26:53

I think you'd have to be near a wall to do that.

Fria - HT : 2:26:53 - 2:26:55

I was near a wall. I know.

Bjarni - PN : 2:26:57 - 2:26:58

Just reminding.

Fria - HT : 2:26:59 - 2:27:14

Yes. And I get a… 28 to hit harpy.

Yes.

Bjarni - PN : 2:27:15 - 2:27:18

Or harpy doesn't have very much AC at the moment.

Fria - HT : 2:27:20 - 2:27:21

15 damage.

Wulf - PB : 2:27:33 - 2:27:36

Right. That's it. Monsters.

Fria - HT : 2:27:42 - 2:28:38

Can you use telekinesis on yourself? I don't see why not. If you wish to throw yourself into a wall repeatedly…

You can't be your guest. I'm not going to stop you. I encourage it, in fact.

OK, again, an 8 and a 1. 8 is attack nearest and 1 is attack cast, I think. Yeah, let's carry on with the…

This one's flapping towards Amundsen. Yeah. And the other one will be moved towards the contract general.

As it doesn't have to fly… I think we can make this full move. It can actually do a reasonable move.

Wulf - PB : 2:28:49 - 2:28:50

OK.

Fria - HT : 2:28:57 - 2:29:12

Monsieur Harpy. Comes around. Harpy.

Aware that it's flurrying. Flurries of blows incoming. Five foot step back.

It definitely knows where Jestix is.

Bjarni - PN : 2:29:15 - 2:29:44

Arrows into Jestix's location. Five rapid shots at the woman with the rings. Oof.

Let's do something about… Every now and again it'd be nice to have a creature that we can actually… Hit.

With the bullets bounce off.

Fria - HT : 2:29:44 - 2:29:56

I can't remember exactly what he says now. I think that when he was shooting at the gargoyles or whatever. Probably worth going and watching those again.

Right.

Bjarni - PN : 2:29:57 - 2:29:59

A natural 20! Yay!

Fria - HT : 2:30:03 - 2:30:43

He's got to overcome that missed chance now. Odd sight hitting. Ah.

It would be quite odd if you did hit him. Ooh, that was close. That was almost in the right direction.

Well done, that Harpy. I was standing there a few seconds ago. It's a really brave Harpy if you think about it.

If you think about what's just happened to it. It's still actively seeking out combat. It doesn't know that most of its mates are dead, does it?

Because it's blind. Before it went blind, there was lots of turkeys there around.

Bjarni - PN : 2:30:47 - 2:30:53

I think I've got all my characters acted. So, beginning of the round, Isndell.

Fria - HT : 2:30:55 - 2:31:14

Okay, she'll continue to shoot this turkey. Woof, woof! Woof, woof, woof, woof, woof!

Who's playing after that? Err…

Jestix - TE : 2:31:38 - 2:31:38

52…

Fria - HT : 2:31:43 - 2:31:45

58… 72 damage from four arrows.

Bjarni - PN : 2:31:49 - 2:31:50

Which one, sorry?

Fria - HT : 2:31:50 - 2:31:51

This one.

Bjarni - PN : 2:31:52 - 2:31:53

72?

Fria - HT : 2:31:53 - 2:31:58

Well, if it kills after the first one, she might switch targets.

Bjarni - PN : 2:31:58 - 2:32:00

What would be the first lot?

Fria - HT : 2:32:02 - 2:32:32

What would be? How often? Err…

17. Yeah, you kill it at the first one. Okay.

So… What did I say? 72, was it?

So, 55 damage on the next turkey over here. 50… 55.

Bjarni - PN : 2:32:39 - 2:33:04

Last remaining insane turkey. Are we allowed to call it insane? Violating some kind of thing?

Sorry? Are we allowed to call people insane? Like, violating some code?

Fria - HT : 2:33:06 - 2:33:17

No, in the case of… It's a clinical description, I think. But then…

Yeah, so… I mean, they're probably not keen on wacko, but insane is probably okay.

Bjarni - PN : 2:33:19 - 2:33:21

You're not allowed to use the word retard, are you?

Jestix - TE : 2:33:22 - 2:33:23

Err, Freya?

Fria - HT : 2:33:23 - 2:34:43

Of course you can use the word retard. Just for shits and giggles, I backstab this harpy with this turkey. You're going to pick the harpy up again?

No, I'm picking up the turkey and moving it with high speed into the back of the blind harpy. Okay, so… You don't need to roll to hit, but you still do need to roll to hit.

Okay. Sorry, I'm sorry. I think you should roll to hit twice.

I think I possibly should, yes. This is for me to pick up the turkey. Do I get the turkey?

Yes, I… 27. 27.

And this is to hit the harpy with it, which is also a 27. Okay. High speed turkey hit.

So it's the same again as the damage. So it's just basically a d6 plus a backstab.

Jestix - TE : 2:34:43 - 2:34:43

Yeah.

Fria - HT : 2:34:44 - 2:35:05

Halved. Five points of damage each. Unless you can find rules to say how much damage a turkey does.

That's perfectly reasonable, Dave. My only hope is that they are off balance, off guard and confused. So how much damage?

Wulf - PB : 2:35:05 - 2:35:06

And standing.

Fria - HT : 2:35:08 - 2:35:30

Did you say five or three? Five. Five.

So that was pre-halved. It was ten points of damage, but I halved it. Because I'm good at maths like that.

So yes, I'm just keeping them in front of the party mincing machines.

Bjarni - PN : 2:35:35 - 2:35:37

Okay, they both land on their feet this time.

Fria - HT : 2:35:37 - 2:35:51

Oh, damn. They're probably starting to wonder what the smeg is going on. Although…

Right, oof.

Jestix - TE : 2:35:52 - 2:35:53

Yeah.

Fria - HT : 2:35:53 - 2:37:44

Yeah. There's a big dire wolf next to you that's obviously slobbering. Could be very dangerous.

Well, it is very dangerous, but I've scratched it behind the ears and I move on. Okay. I move to there.

Take a swing at… I'll go for the turkey. Ten point power attack.

I hit. Actually 13. Then 28.

It stares at me with its eyes crossed. And its head falls off. It's got a tongue out one side, flapping all night.

43 damage. And that kills it. I whip its head off and watch it run around for a bit.

Just like insane turkeys always do. Oh, yeah. Okay.

I'm unstuck. Does anyone want to give me odds on whether the harpy is going to survive this encounter? He's not even going to get down to me.

I will leave the carnage to the people that have the spell slots. Head for the ruby. Head for that big gem.

Well, there's a big table with a gem hovering over it. It'll lie there speculatively for now.

Bjarni - PN : 2:37:46 - 2:37:49

He recognises it as one of those weird stone things.

GM - DF : 2:37:53 - 2:37:57

Weird stones? We'll worry about that.

Fria - HT : 2:37:57 - 2:38:00

It's the thing that activates the shield. Yeah.

GM - DF : 2:38:00 - 2:38:01

Oh, yeah.

Bjarni - PN : 2:38:05 - 2:38:12

Basically any kind of magic item. Okay. That'll do for him.

Wulf - PB : 2:38:13 - 2:38:14

Yawning.

Fria - HT : 2:38:15 - 2:38:17

Oops. A harpy left.

GM - DF : 2:38:18 - 2:38:19

Is it within reach?

Fria - HT : 2:38:20 - 2:38:29

It has to take a 5 foot step. You probably have to take a 5 foot step. Alright.

I'll take a 5 foot step. It did back off from us.

GM - DF : 2:38:30 - 2:38:33

5 foot step forward and then I will full attack it.

Bjarni - PN : 2:38:33 - 2:38:41

It actually has the charisma bonus on its arm glass against you.

GM - DF : 2:38:43 - 2:38:45

Oh, it's one of those.

Fria - HT : 2:38:46 - 2:38:51

That was to make a blind bit of difference. It was smiting you, don't you remember?

GM - DF : 2:38:51 - 2:38:54

Yes, it was. It did make a difference.

Fria - HT : 2:38:58 - 2:39:00

You probably need to do two damage.

GM - DF : 2:39:02 - 2:39:04

How many smites do I have left?

Fria - HT : 2:39:04 - 2:39:15

Save them. Just kit it. These things are a lot weaker than the goblin turkeys.

It's blind, it's half dead.

GM - DF : 2:39:16 - 2:39:36

I'm going to drop my combat reflex thingamajig. Combat expertise. And I'll just go for the…

I'll just go for straight attacks. Actually, no. Three point power attack.

Fria - HT : 2:39:37 - 2:39:38

Just twonk it.

GM - DF : 2:39:39 - 2:39:57

Three point power attack. Okay, so that will be a 38. A threat with a 42-ish to hit.

Fria - HT : 2:39:57 - 2:40:02

Overkill. You need an AC 18 to hit it.

GM - DF : 2:40:03 - 2:40:25

Okay. It gets a crit from the second. It gets hit from the third.

And so what is it? 30, 25, 20, 50. Okay, yeah.

So all four hit. And one of them is double damage. Oh, for fuck's sake.

Fria - HT : 2:40:27 - 2:40:40

Well, I wonder if Dave's disappeared because his picture's gone. PC crash. He's just posted.

That picture of Dave was from a long time ago.

GM - DF : 2:40:45 - 2:40:52

All right, so average is, let's say, 10 points per blow.

Bjarni - PN : 2:40:52 - 2:40:54

My PC's crashed.

Fria - HT : 2:40:54 - 2:41:09

Yes, we saw that. I am going to take some time to reboot. Okay.

So maybe we'll call it there. Maybe several days. Yes, we'll call it there.

You've probably killed it, Pete.

GM - DF : 2:41:10 - 2:41:14

Oh, yes. On average, I'll do about 175 points of damage.

Fria - HT : 2:41:15 - 2:43:38

Okay. If it was on full hit points, you'd have killed it twice over. And given it was at 53.

Yeah. I think they had 57 or something stupid like that. It was almost dead as it was.

Okay. Well, why don't we not worry about trying to get it back in, but we'll just finish off. The fight's over now, I assume.

Yep. So we can go and inspect this. It really can't because Dave's PC's crashed.

He hasn't got access to any of the documentation. He's a clever guy. He'll remember it.

What do you want to know? We go and check out the gem. The table.

The gem. Yeah. I can't remember the name, what color it is, but there's a gem and it's hovering over the table.

Cool. It's about this size. Amundstut says, yeah, that's a weird stone.

That is. They use to control, you know, like anti-magic fields and stuff. Excellent.

Well, we'll have one of those. But firstly, I loot the bodies. Okay.

We've got some wearing gloves. Just document it. Add it onto the list of stuff that you'll get at the end.

Yeah, they've got some general monies. The were-turkeys have got nothing. There's a fair few silvered arrows left.

Strange that. Well, isn't there where we replenish some arrows with these silvered chubs? Yeah.

I don't think they actually had any magic items on them, but they had some nice longbows. I think they're plus one opposite longbows. Okay.

They'll go nicely to the military in Britain, of course. Who needs that sort of thing? There you go.

Are you going to do anything with this gem or just leave it there floating? Take it down. Examine it very carefully and then take it down.

Okay.

Bjarni - PN : 2:43:39 - 2:43:42

If I remember rightly, you just have to grab it.

Fria - HT : 2:43:42 - 2:45:29

Yeah. I'm very happy to be the person who grabs it unless anyone else wants to go first. I grab it.

Okay. I stand on the table. I grab it and take it to the ground.

Okay. You will need to make a willpower check, but we won't worry about that at the moment. It was, in fact, trapped.

I did say examine it very carefully. Okay. I will give you a take ten on your search.

Okay. Take ten is, I think, a thirty. I think it's likely that you think, oh, it's trapped.

Of course it's trapped. I could have told you that before you even got there. Yes.

Okay. It's trapped. What's the nature of the trap?

There's some kind of mystical symbol on top of the table. Ah. Okay.

So dispel magic on the mystical symbol on the table. Okay. We'll leave that there.

Yes. I can't remember what the DC is going to be. Even though you're quite likely to make it.

I won't be able to do that. Why did my PC crash? It's Windows.

Yes, Windows. Windows. If it was fucking Windows Update, I'm going to be fucking pissed.

No, you should have done that last week.

Bjarni - PN : 2:45:32 - 2:45:34

What, crashed my PC?

Fria - HT : 2:45:35 - 2:46:55

No, installed. And did it crash or did it reboot? It completely crashed.

Yes, so it wasn't an update. I did get a blue screen, though. Ah, yeah.

So aren't they black these days? Or whatever. It just, there was no message, nothing.

Just, oh, your PC's died. Yeah, just gone. Ah, the fuse has blown.

No, it's come back up. The fuse on my, oh, I think it's the fuse, I'll have to check it out. Both of my headlights went out on the M25 earlier, which is always one of those entertaining moments.

That's not happening now. Fortunately, it didn't affect my side lights and I could put my driving lights on and it was safe enough to be seen, to see and be seen. But I have a bit of repair to do on my poor old car.

It must have been fun to get back after you left the lights of the motorway, though. Going cross country to your place. I'm glad I know that road very well.

GM - DF : 2:46:58 - 2:47:01

I'm glad there wasn't anybody walking their dog on the way.

Fria - HT : 2:47:02 - 2:48:11

Well, I had my driving lights, which are actually really good for, and I had full beam. So actually, whilst, there was a period where I was approaching another car. People could see you coming and then they'd disappear just before they got to you.

It's the mad tinnity. Run away! Nice and quiet.

He blinds you and then goes invisible. So, news thump, fantastic as ever. Tins of Quality Street to be invisible to the naked eye by 2029.

Tins of Quality Street are getting smaller so fast they won't be invisible within the decade. Scientists have confirmed. Beautiful.

Well, before that you'll get to the point where your tin of Quality Street will be about an inch long and will have one Quality Street. You still don't get to pick your flavour and they'll all be whichever ones you don't like. Of course.

GM - DF : 2:48:14 - 2:48:57

I was going back through Duty Free one time and I thought, I'll pick up a really big bottle of gin or a couple of bottles of gin. And, oh, a bag of Quality Street to treat my family because they've never really experienced the joys of Quality Street. So I went to pay and suddenly I got hit with this immense bill.

And I was going, holy fuck, maybe I got charged the gin or something. But I just didn't bother complaining about it and bought anyway. And when I got home I took the receipt out.

It wasn't the gin, it was a fucking bag of Quality Street. It was like astronomical cost. It cost more than gin.

Fria - HT : 2:48:58 - 2:49:03

Bloody hell. That is bad. How big was your bag of Quality Street?

GM - DF : 2:49:03 - 2:49:17

It was a big kind of kilo sized thing. But I thought it would be like cheap special offer type thing. But no, it was treated as some kind of deluxe, extra, extra luxury item.

Wulf - PB : 2:49:17 - 2:49:19

I could shop with that because I'm much faster than inflation.

GM - DF : 2:49:22 - 2:49:25

Oh, well, the official inflation rate is complete bollocks.

Fria - HT : 2:49:26 - 2:49:30

Yeah. There's always shrinkflation too.

GM - DF : 2:49:31 - 2:49:37

You can forget about your energy costs and your grocery costs. They're all through the roof.
